Hey there,
This is not a meditation about clearing your mind,
It's not about stress relief or productivity or even becoming a better version of yourself.
This meditation is about pleasure,
Pure,
Uncomplicated,
And entirely yours.
Most of us spend our lives at a careful distance from our own bodies.
We carry them around,
Feed them,
Criticize them,
Push them through days that ask too much and then wonder why we feel disconnected from ourselves.
Today we are closing that distance.
So,
Find yourself a quiet,
Private place where you won't be disturbed.
Lie down and take up as much space as you want.
You are allowed that much,
But ready,
Let your eyes drift,
And as you lay here,
Just breathe for a moment,
Feel the surface beneath you,
The weight of your body pressing into it,
The warmth of the room against your skin.
You are here,
In this body,
Right now,
Releasing whatever the day has been asking you to hold.
And this time,
As you breathe out,
Feel your body begin to soften,
Your shoulders dropping,
Your jaw unclenching,
That space behind your eyes relaxing,
Your skin becoming more alive with each breath.
There is a concept in non-dual philosophy that says the boundary between yourself and your experience is not real,
That the observer and the observed are the same thing,
That you are not a person lying in a room having sensations tonight.
You are the sensation.
There is nothing between you and what you feel tonight,
No distance,
No management,
No carefully maintained gap between who you present to the world and who actually exists underneath it.
Just this,
Just you,
Just your body,
Awake and waiting.
So bring your awareness now to your skin,
All of it,
The entire surface of you,
The places where fabric meets your body,
The places where the air meets your skin,
The soft places your body keeps mostly to itself,
The back of your neck,
The inside of your wrist,
The places that hold heat in a way most of the rest of your body doesn't.
Notice how alive your skin is already,
How it responds to the simple act of being noticed,
How it warms very slightly under your own attention.
Your body has been waiting for this,
And feel the warmth of your own touch.
In this moment there is no separation between them,
You are both at one,
A warmth beginning together,
Starting somewhere in the chest and moving slowly downward like a tide coming in,
Finding every space that has been left empty for time.
You may feel your breath changing now,
Deeper in some moments.
Let your hands move now,
Not with purpose,
Not toward any destination,
Just following the warmth,
Following your body's own intelligence which,
When given half a chance,
Knows exactly where it wants to go,
And exactly what it needs,
The sides of the neck,
The collarbone,
The soft skin,
Of the inner arm,
The places that respond to touch the way,
Each place that responds to your.
Feel your breath quicken as you do this,
Becoming more sensitive with each pass of the hands.
There is no observer here tonight,
No part of you standing outside of this experience,
No part of you watching,
That version of you has left the room,
It's just sensation,
Just warmth,
Warmth,
Permission to feel everything.
Heat,
The body knows what it is moving toward and does not need your help or your warmth.
Concentrated now,
Deep and urgent in the places your body keeps for moments,
Exactly like careful management of how you move through the world.
There is only this,
This is yours,
Every sensation,
Every wave of heat,
Every.
.
.
Take one more slow,
Deep,
As long as you want,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
