Welcome into practice.
This is a five minute guided meditation for dealing with the Sunday scaries.
When you're ready.
Please close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Find a comfortable seat.
And we will begin.
Do you feel like worries about the week ahead are taking over and threatening your peace this Sunday?
It's a normal and natural way to feel,
Especially if you're someone who cares a lot.
And takes pride in what you do.
But there is also a different way to approach the week ahead.
A kinder.
Gentler way to view the time ahead of you.
When I say this,
This isn't to suggest that feeling the way you do today is wrong or that it isn't a normal part of life.
But there are some things that we can all do to just make ourselves feel that bit better on a Sunday.
Taking time for self-care.
Today,
Even more than always,
Is really beneficial for your mental and physical health,
Whether that would be running a nice warm bath.
Maybe you've scented bubbles,
Stretching out in it with your favorite book.
Whether it be closing the curtains and lighting your favourite candle,
Eating nourishing,
Wonderful,
Healthy food,
Drinking your favourite warm drink,
Or depending on the time of day,
Perhaps getting outside and feeling the sun on your face.
Some days call for solitude inside,
And that's okay if that's the case for you today.
But sometimes,
Calling a loved one,
A friend,
Or a family member can be helpful.
Talking to them about your feelings.
I'm back There isn't someone else for you to talk to and my voice is going to be the one giving you advice for the day ahead of you.
I invite you to remember that this too shall pass.
Just because things feel difficult today,
Feel stressful,
That is not an indication of how the following week is going to play out.
And anything you can do today to make yourself feel better.
Even if that stretching on your carpet for five minutes or laying out your outfit for the week ahead or meal prepping your breakfast will only enhance your week coming.
When things do become stressful,
I.
.
.
I find it's always helpful to remember to take a breath.
So perhaps in this moment you could take a nice deep nourishing inhale through your nostrils.
And exhale your choice out of the nose or mouth,
An option to sigh it out.
Really release,
Let go opportunity here to take that two more times if you would like to.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
And exhale to sigh out third and final time,
Taking this at your own pace,
Take a nice deep nourishing inhale.
And exhale to sigh and to release.
Or whether you're doing this on a day.
Try and take time to.
.
.
Nourish yourself.
To the things that light you up.
And as much as is possible focus on enjoying your day off and not fretting about what's to come tomorrow.
Once we finish this meditation perhaps you could take a pen to paper and just jot down three things you're really grateful for.
Either in your job or if that's too difficult in your life.
And if they're not work-related,
Perhaps you could try on your Monday to bring them into your day.
So,
For example,
If you're grateful for your best friend.
You can make a commitment to text them on your lunch break.
If you're grateful for your dog,
Perhaps you could get up 10 minutes earlier to walk them.
And if you're grateful for your body,
Perhaps you could take yourself.
To the gym after work.
These are just some examples.
Apply them to your own life and your own schedule.
No,
You don't.
As all consummated work can sometimes become,
And believe me,
I've been there.
Life goes on outside of the office or your workplace.
Make time to do the things that light you up outside of your nine to five and in doing that you'll find that life becomes so much bigger.
Then you what?
In your job.
And perhaps as work starts to lesson in importance in your life.
You notice that the sun discaries.
And a little bit lighter.
A little bit easier.
Whatever this week throws at you,
Know that you've got this.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Sunday and manage to enjoy some of it.
