Hello,
This is Jennifer Barba with Connecticut Healing Center.
Let's release the day.
Welcome to this time of rest.
Tonight you are invited to gently release the day and return home to yourself.
Begin by getting comfortable.
Let your body settle into your bed.
Adjust anything that needs adjusting.
And when you're ready,
Allow your eyes to close.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold for a moment.
And slowly exhale.
Again,
Inhale gently.
Pause.
And exhale fully.
With each breath out,
Give yourself permission to release the day behind you.
You may have carried a lot today.
Responsibilities,
Conversations.
Thoughts.
Emotions.
Things completed.
Things unfinished.
And for now,
All of it can wait.
Sleep is not something you have to force.
Sleep is something you can allow.
Your only job right now is to soften.
Bring your attention to your forehead.
Let it smooth.
Bring your attention to your eyes.
Let them rest.
Bring your attention to your jaw.
Let it soften.
Let your shoulders drop away from your ears.
Let your arms feel heavy.
Let your hands open.
Notice your breath moving gently through your body.
There's no perfect way to breathe.
Just allow the breath to be easy.
Now imagine placing the events of the day into a small basket beside your bed.
Anything that feels unresolved can go in the basket.
A thought,
A worry.
A conversation,
A plan for tomorrow.
A feeling you didn't have time to process.
Place it gently in the basket.
You are not ignoring it.
You are simply giving yourself permission to rest.
You can return to what needs your attention another time.
For tonight you are allowed to be free from holding it all.
Take a slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself letting go.
Your body is becoming heavier.
Your mind is becoming quieter.
Your heart is becoming softer.
Now imagine yourself in a calm body of water at night.
The air is peaceful.
The sky is dark and gentle.
The moonlight rests softly on the surface of the water.
With every breath,
The water moves slowly in and out.
In and out.
Just like your breath,
The water does not rush.
It does not force.
It simply moves.
Allow your breath to follow that rhythm.
Soft inhale,
Gentle exhale.
You are held by the quiet of the night.
You are safe in this moment.
You do not need to earn your rest.
You do not need to be perfect to rest.
You do not need to have everything figured out to rest.
Rest is allowed now.
Silently say to yourself,
I release today.
I welcome rest.
My body is safe.
My mind can quiet.
I allow sleep to come.
Let those words fade into the background.
Allow your body to sink deeper into the bed.
Your thoughts may become softer now,
Less clear,
More distant.
That's okay.
You can drift.
You can let go.
You can sleep.
The day is done.
Your body is ready.
Your mind is slowing.
Your breath is steady.
Rest now.
Sleep now.
You are safe.
