Finding a comfortable position,
Ideally where you are able to soften your gaze or close your eyes,
Making small adjustments,
Little movements to alleviate any tension or holding and creating as much comfort as you can where you are.
This may include gentle stretches or wiggling around until you feel settled.
When you're settled,
Bringing the focus to the breath.
Noticing the inhales and exhales just as they are.
If you'd like,
Bringing one hand on the chest and one hand on the belly to connect tangibly with your breath.
Feeling the body rise and fall,
Expand and contract,
Inflate and deflate.
Noticing this natural rhythm,
The rhythm of your breath,
The rhythm of your life.
This is yours.
Take a moment to thank the breath that gives you life and then thank your body for working with the breath.
Just a few moments of gratitude to help center and ground the body and mind in the present moment.
In this space,
Gently ask yourself what it is you need right now in this very moment.
Maybe it's peace,
Love,
Tranquility,
Hope,
Expansion,
Groundedness,
Or maybe something else.
Allow your soul some time to tell you what it is.
Continue breathing as you listen to what your soul has to tell you.
It may be a quiet whisper or it may be a loud roar.
However it comes to you,
Acknowledge it and thank your soul for sharing it with you.
Slowly and gently begin to deepen the breath,
Lengthening the inhales and exhales.
On the inhale,
Allowing the belly to fully inflate,
Allowing the ribcage to expand in all directions.
And on the exhale,
Letting the ribcage fall and the belly deflate all the way.
Breathing here.
For the next several breaths,
Inhale what it is your soul told you that you need.
Following it in through the nose and allowing it to spread throughout the body.
As you exhale,
Releasing what no longer serves you and allowing your muscles to relax.
Continue breathing this way.
Noticing the qualities of the inhales.
Does what you need have some quality associated with it?
Maybe some quality that wasn't there before?
Is it a specific color,
Texture,
Or feeling?
Taking some time to explore this as you breathe.
Whenever you're ready,
Releasing control of the breath,
Allowing it to return to its natural rhythm.
Allowing your hands to come to a resting position if you are holding them over your chest and belly.
Taking a moment to ground yourself back into the present as you anchor into the feeling of breathing in what you needed.
And pausing for a moment of gratitude.
Thanking yourself for taking this time to take care of yourself and reconnecting.
Whenever you are ready,
Opening your eyes and returning to your day.
