Hi,
This is Hetty,
And welcome to this guided meditation for relaxation.
Find a comfortable and quiet place where you won't be disturbed.
You can sit in a chair or even lie down if that's more comfortable.
And close your eyes.
This is a reprieve from the stream of thoughts and concerns of your day.
Start by taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely,
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
Do this again and release any tension as you breathe out.
Now just breathing naturally in and out through your nose.
Allow the muscles around your eyes to soften,
Your jaw to relax,
And let your shoulders drop.
And now bringing your attention to the rhythm of your breath,
Like the soothing ebb and flow of ocean waves.
Imagine each wave carrying away thoughts and concerns and all the things that are on your mind right now.
You already set aside this time for yourself.
There isn't anywhere you need to be and nothing you need to do right now.
And if you find yourself thinking about this or that,
Bring your attention back to your breath,
Silently repeating in on the in-breath and out on the out-breath.
Letting thoughts come and go,
Slowing the breath down a bit.
My voice will be quiet as you enjoy this relaxing time for you.
And as we bring this meditation to a close,
Take one longer,
Slower,
Deeper breath.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
I hope that you will carry this sense of relaxation throughout your day,
And appreciating the time that you've taken for yourself to recharge and rejuvenate.
