Welcome to Finding Your Perfect Summer Cabin,
A 20-minute guided journey.
To prepare,
Take the time to get very comfortable.
Turn off your phone.
Have your journal and a favorite pen nearby so that you can capture any images or inspirations as they arise or afterward.
Now,
Take a deep breath and let's begin.
Finding Your Perfect Summer Cabin.
For the purpose of this journey,
It's best if you can close your eyes.
Just sit back or lie back comfortably.
And first of all,
Notice your breath without judging it.
And then notice if it wants to be a little bigger,
Deeper.
Just allowing yourself to relax deeply,
Comfortably.
And then we're going to begin by walking along a very quiet,
Beautiful trail.
The ground is soft beneath your feet.
There's just the right amount of sun and shade.
You move at an easy,
Comfortable pace looking around.
And you begin to hear the sound of water.
And you come across a small creek.
Just a quiet,
Gentle murmur.
And the path continues along this creek until it opens out into a small pond.
There's a path around the pond.
It goes to the right.
As you walk along the pond's edge until you begin to see another small path that goes slightly to the right.
And you come across your perfect summer cabin.
As you walk up,
You'll see a porch with a comfortable rocking chair.
Just find your way onto the porch and sit in the chair.
And look out over the view.
You can see the pond,
The woods.
The temperature is just perfect.
A gentle breeze.
The subtle,
Lovely smells of summer.
The air is warm.
And yet so comfortable.
It's time now to stand and look at the door.
Perhaps it has a color.
Or a texture.
Let your hands run over the door just to see what it's like.
This is an entrance to a place that's perfectly designed just for you.
The latch on the door opens easily to your hand.
And step in to a room.
Not too large.
But you look around to the floor.
Are there chairs or couch?
To the ceiling.
Notice any windows.
You can make it exactly the way you want it.
You are imagining your perfect retreat.
A place of comfort and ease.
Privacy.
And a delicious form of solitude.
And you notice that there is a small kitchen.
Adjacent to this room.
And in anticipation of your arrival.
There's been a bowl of your favorite fruit.
Or fruits.
That were set.
Just for you.
And there's a refrigerator.
And inside there's the perfect drink.
And other foods.
And these foods are all designed for your best health.
And well-being.
No judgment.
And there's a window that looks out from the kitchen.
And so perhaps you can pour yourself a cool drink.
And look out the window.
And appreciate the quiet.
And the comfort.
And you notice that there's a room off to the right.
And as you enter into that room.
You'll see that it's designed for creativity.
For spiritual exploration.
In whatever way that feels right to you.
Perhaps there's an altar.
An art table.
Or even a computer.
Or all of the above.
Really take the time to design.
A space that's perfectly aligned.
With your call for creativity and spirituality.
And you may notice.
That there's some projects that have already been begun by you.
You go over and you look at.
Whatever has been started.
That calls you to finish.
Touch any objects.
Designs.
What would it be like for you to have a place.
That you could step into.
With no reservations.
No preparation.
And just begin.
And now,
However reluctantly.
I'd like you to leave that space.
And to walk back into the main room.
And notice if there's anything you'd like to change.
This is the power of imagination.
Would you like to have some special covering on the floor?
Is there a chair or a couch?
A comfortable spot?
Perhaps to read?
Enjoy the power.
That you have.
To make your life be just the way you want it to be.
What does this tell you about yourself?
What is different about this space?
Than in the space in your other life?
What is it you'd like to remember and incorporate?
Off to the left.
There is an area that's for your own privacy.
For sleeping.
Dressing.
Bathing.
I'd like you just to walk around.
Noticing the light.
The windows.
The colors.
What is it you most appreciate about the feeling in each of these rooms?
If you look over to the bed.
Touch the textures.
Feel the pillows.
The covers.
Notice any light.
Lie down on this bed that's perfectly designed just for you.
A place where you can deeply relax and take a deep breath.
And then another.
And here you could fall asleep so easily.
Your dreams would only be sweet and enticing.
Open your mind and your heart.
To having this depth of relaxation.
And comfort.
And ease around your sleep.
How would that change your life?
To be able to count on that.
Deep.
Undisturbed.
Blissful sleep.
Every night.
And then ease yourself up.
Stretching.
Breathing.
And then stand and walk over to a small wardrobe.
With some clothes that are hanging somewhere in drawers.
And notice the textures.
The colors.
And then notice the quality of the clothing that is designed just for you.
For your time alone.
In your perfect summer cabin.
Slip on one of the outfits.
Notice the flow and the texture.
Feel it against your skin.
What do you like about the way this feels?
The way you're allowing yourself to dress that's different.
From life back in the other world.
What can you appreciate and take to heart?
Walk back now into the main room.
And feel what it feels like to be alone.
Safe.
Totally comfortable.
You have no pressure of time.
Expectation.
Choose a place to sit.
And feel what it feels like.
To release any unnecessary tension.
To embrace the sheer act of breathing.
Relaxing your face.
Your jaw.
Your shoulders and arms.
Letting that flow.
That release of tension.
Flow out your head.
And with the next breath breathing in deeply into your belly.
And as you exhale you feel that flow.
That release of tension.
All the way down your legs.
Your knees.
Down into your ankles and feet.
What does it feel like?
To know how safe and comfortable you can just exist.
If there's anything in your life that has been bothering you.
Disturbing your sleep.
In this moment just let it go.
Let it go out that front door.
Flowing away.
If there's any problems you've been experiencing in your health.
Pain.
Tension.
Illness.
Just allow it to rest.
To receive your love.
To believe that it will be healed.
And let it flow out the front door of your perfect summer cabin.
In this moment you are free of worry.
Pressure.
Expectations.
You have all the time in the world to become who you truly wish to be.
And I'd like you now to bring that gentle awareness.
That softness.
That comfort.
The ease you're feeling in your body back.
Into the chair that you're sitting or that you're lying upon.
Back into the room you are actually inhabiting.
Knowing that at any time.
You merely need to close your eyes.
And imagine unlatching the door.
To take you back to this place.
Your place.
Of privacy.
Healing.
And joy.
And if you wish you can begin to take a big breath.
Feeling the energy coming back into your body.
Without regaining the tension.
You don't need any tension.
You can just feel your breath returning.
Perhaps a small stretch.
Loosening of your jaw.
Your eyes will remember how to open.
And take whatever lessons have come.
Whatever changes you'd like to make.
And bring them fully back into this life.
Welcome home.

Absolutely wonderful! I love all the details. It may be want to draw out a floor plan and start building it. And also thinking about How am I change my living situation. Being an older disabled woman, it's great to be able to travel from my bed. 💞🏕️🏡 It brought back fond memories of a guided meditation I used to do with women's groups, in which we went to visit the old wise woman who lived in a cabin in the woods. And we would walk on the path, taking in the experience through all of our senses, until we saw the cabin and the old wise woman who sitting on the porch. She greeted us with the warmth of an old friend or family, and an invitation to come inside and sit awhile. As we sat comfortably sipping a cup of tea, she would say something like "I sense that you have come here seeking wisdom on some matter. If so, I am happy to help". We would then speak to her about something that we had been concerned with, and then sit quietly and listen to her response for a few minutes. After a while in the silence we thanked her, and she bid us goodbye, with an invitation to come back anytime because she was always there, always available. Then after we went back down the path, as we come to the end of the meditation, we realize that the old wise woman is within us and accessible at any time, if only we become quiet enough to go seek the old wise woman within...with all of her wisdom, kindness, and loving care. 💞 😊 I would love to lead more women on this meditation in groups again. It was so powerful to hear each woman share about her experience. I don't know how to record them for Insight Timer. But I'm just so blessed to have it. I thank you for the chance to connect with you today. Take good care. Namaste. (The wise woman in me bows to the wise woman in you.)😘
