Being is a creative force, continuously producing an abundance of forms, shapes, and experiences. This aspect of Being is what we feel when we feel vitality, strength, and courage. It is what we feel when we feel alive, adventurous, expansive, and fearless. When we forget ourselves, when we are total in our action, and when we feel zest for life, we are aware of this aspect of Being. This state dissolves any issues around feeling anger, frustration, fear of separation, and issues around procrastination, lethargy, and lack of vitality. The more we become familiar with the sense of energetic surplus, the more we can meet life’s challenges and opportunities head-on. We come to know ourselves as energetic, engaged, and rich in initiative in an unforced, relaxed, and happy way. This one-minute meditation is a part of a series on different aspects of Being. It can be used on its own as a quick way of turning awareness to Being – or to set the tone for a longer silent meditation.

Sit comfortably,

Close your eyes and just invite your body to relax,

To become soft.

Invite your face to relax,

Invite your arms and your legs to relax,

Your chest,

Your belly.

Notice how every single time a muscle in you is relaxing,

A little bit of energy is released.

The muscle relaxes and energy flows more freely.

And you might feel this energy that starts to flow in you as a tingling in the body,

Or as vibrations,

As blowing on embers,

And you might feel it as warmth,

You might feel it even as a little bit of fire starting to burn pleasantly,

Warming up your body as you relax even more.
