EJ 9-1-1,
Captain speaking.
The scientist got stuck where?
What do you mean,
6th dimension?
No,
No,
I don't mean a definition of the 6th dimension,
I mean how did she even get there?
I guess that'll have to be our first mission,
Replicating this mad scientist's technology.
Then we'll find her and bring her home.
We're on it.
Transferring to dispatch.
I do not kid when I say I've been waiting for this moment my whole life.
Too bad it took one overly ambitious scientist to bring us here.
But once she's back in this dimension and safe,
This mission will be a leap forward for the command center's technology.
Come straight here to the command center.
Today,
I have dimensional jumpers and all sorts of other things even I can't believe are real.
The day has come.
We're traveling to different dimensions,
Hero.
See you soon.
Captain EJ and Hero to the rescue.
Let's begin.
You are here,
In the bustling command center of the Honeybee neighborhood.
Mr.
Honeybee has already sprung into inspired action,
His hands flying over the complex controls of a device that looks like it belongs on a rocket ship.
It's encased in sleek metal,
Pulsing with light and formulated by equations that few can even imagine.
What's that,
Mr.
H?
It's almost done.
No time to talk.
We've got a short window to pull the mad scientist back before the dimensional tear stabilizes and traps her there.
With no time to waste,
Mr.
Honeybee hands us each a dimensional jumper,
A belt equipped with various gadgets and gizmos,
Each more mysterious than the last.
This simple device blends the latest theoretical physics with adapted space exploration technology and is our only hope to navigate the unstable dimension and retrieve the lost scientist.
All right,
Strap this on,
Hero.
Make sure it's snug.
We're going dimension diving.
Remember,
You have a very short time after you enter the sixth dimension.
The fifth would have been a much better place for her to get lost.
But the sixth?
Keep focused,
Team.
I'll be monitoring all dimensions and portals closely.
I have a 3D GIS dimensional map.
I can't believe I just said that.
Okay.
I have a dimensional map from the scientist's own records.
Luckily,
She writes scrupulous notes on her experiments.
From what I've gathered,
The portal will shortly become too unstable.
We're so lucky she travels with satellite phones.
Make sure you're both back or you'll be permanent residents of the sixth dimension.
I'm a fan of these measly old four dimensions of our world.
We'll be back,
Mr.
Honeybee.
The portal opens with a low hum.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Feel your chest and your spirits lift as a flash of blinding light swallows us whole.
Then slowly breathe all the way out through your mouth.
As we're forcefully ejecting out into a dimensional world that defies explanation.
The sky swirls with neon colors,
The ground beneath your feet feels like gelatin,
And bizarre creatures flit through the air,
Their forms blurred and shifting.
You follow Captain EJ who navigates the terrain with the confidence of a guy who's faced far stranger than this.
His confidence and bravery reminds you of your inner strength,
Which makes you the only sidekick for him.
Your destination is a beacon signal pulsing steadily on a device clipped to Captain EJ's belt,
The last known location of the lost scientist.
Navigating this dimension proves treacherous.
The landscape seems to rearrange itself with every blink,
And what was once a hill might suddenly dip into a valley.
You keep close as Captain EJ leads,
His focus never wavering from the mission at hand.
You eventually spot the frazzled scientist,
Though she does not spot you.
She's engrossed in a malfunctioning piece of equipment,
Frustration clear in her tense shoulders and furrowed brow.
Her experiments,
Strange contraptions that bend light and sound in impossible ways,
Lay scattered around her,
Half buried in the multicolored soil.
Silently,
Captain EJ motions for you to stay back as he approaches the scientist.
There's a delicate balance to maintain here,
Not just of the physical surroundings,
But also in handling a mind that's been isolated in such a warped reality.
A sense of relief washes over the scientist,
Who follows without a word.
She doesn't know how you got here or what will happen next,
But she senses the quiet power of your combined resolve and takes your hand to lead her back to safety.
With the scientist following silently,
You make your way back to the portal location.
The return journey is even more perilous than the arrival.
The dimension,
Sensing its visitors' intent to depart,
Increases its resistance.
The ground shifts aggressively,
And the air seems to thicken,
Trying to disorient and delay your retreat,
As if this extended dimension wants to keep all of us here.
Mr.
Honeybee will be happy to hear that the sixth dimension wants visitors just as much as he wants to visit.
The portal looms ahead,
Its stability waning as the minutes tick down.
Mr.
Honeybee radios into our BattleBuzz helmet.
Captain,
Hero,
Are you almost done there?
We're losing time.
But tell me everything.
Is it awesome?
Like,
Truly awesome,
In that it inspires awe?
What's it like?
Captain,
I need to know.
Mr.
H,
For someone who wants to know so much,
You're sure not giving us time to talk.
And speaking of,
We have no time to talk.
Captain EJ pushes the pace,
Urging you and the silent scientist forward as the boundary between dimensions begins to blur and flicker.
Just as you reach the portal,
It shrinks rapidly,
Threatening to close.
Take your biggest,
Slowest breath in through your nose.
Feel the edges of your breath push against the boundary of your chest.
Fill up your lungs with as much fresh air as will fit,
Exploring every possible space within you.
Then slowly breathe all the way out through your mouth,
As we leap for our home dimension in utter desperation.
You and Captain EJ,
With the scientist in tow,
Dive through the narrowing gateway.
The portal snaps shut behind you,
Sealing off the bizarre dimension with a sound like the world itself exhaling.
Back in the command center,
Mr.
Honeybee is a picture of relief.
His gadgets and screens blink back to normal,
The immediate threat now contained and the brilliant scientist now back safe.
The scientist,
Still quiet,
Seems overwhelmed by her return to normalcy.
Her gaze lingers on the now inert dimensional jumper.
Another day,
Another dimension hero.
The Honeybee neighborhood goes on with its daily existence,
Unaware of the cosmic disturbances just beyond their sight inside the unassuming garage.
As you and Captain EJ enjoy the snacks and refreshments,
Mr.
Honeybee doesn't let the recuperating scientist relax one bit.
His questions come with the ferocity of his curiosity,
And he,
Once again,
Does not hardly give her a chance to answer before he regales with another litany of questions.
We laugh to ourselves as we gobble up the last of the cookies.
With Mr.
Honeybee's genius,
And Captain EJ's bravery,
Along with your steadfast courage,
Hero,
There's no boundary we can't breach,
And no scientist too mad to save.
You look out of the windows of Command Center to see that the stars have taken over the sky and the sun has set.
You wonder what other mysteries await in the vast,
Unexplored multiverse.
In the world of heroes,
The line between the ordinary and the extraordinary is thin,
And today,
You have once again walked that line with the steadiness of those destined to protect and serve.
The call to action is clear,
And you are ready to answer it,
Whatever dimension it may pull you into next.
