At the end of this meditation you can choose when you want to finish.
The music will continue for a while after I stop speaking.
Now I begin.
Sit or lie down.
Feel your body against the surface beneath you.
How does it feel?
How does it feel in your body today?
Imagine that you are breathing in and out from your heart.
Place your focus there as you inhale and exhale.
If you want you can put your hand on the heart.
Breathe at your own pace for a little while.
Now breathe a little deeper than usual.
Continue to breathe in and out from the heart.
Now we will take three deep breaths and follow the breath through the nose down through the body all the way to the stomach.
Let the belly expand and as you exhale choose to breathe out through the mouth allowing sound to come with the exhale and let the breath be free.
Now return to breathing normally without focusing on the breath.
Instead listen to my words and feel relaxed where you are.
Perhaps in a bed,
On a sofa,
In a chair,
In a hammock,
In the garden or on a mat on the floor.
You are comfortable now and you can feel it in your body.
Imagine early spring.
It is still chilly.
Not winter but not yet warm spring.
That in-between time when nothing has quite decided yet.
Picture the ground in front of you.
It looks tired.
Perhaps a little gray.
Maybe a bit hard.
Full of memory from what has been.
A winter when much in nature has been at rest.
But then you see something small.
A snowdrop.
Not grand.
Not dramatic.
Just a persistent little snowdrop.
It has pushed its way up through the soil without asking for permission.
It does not wait for the perfect conditions.
Perhaps there is something within you that is just like that.
Something not quite ready but still moving.
Even when you cannot see it,
Our energy is always moving.
You cannot see how a seed gathers nourishment,
Develops and grows.
It takes time before you see signs of something slowly emerging from the soil.
It can be like that in your own life too.
If there are times when you feel that nothing is happening or that you are not moving forward,
That is just an illusion.
We are always growing,
Sometimes beneath the surface like a seed.
You look a little further now and you see crocuses.
Purple,
Yellow and white.
They don't stand alone.
They come together as if they have decided to dare at the same time.
Feel into this.
Is it anything that you feel afraid of?
Something that's holding you back?
Is it something you wish to do but you don't because you have fear of it?
How can you let it go and do what you feel is good for you?
Something that you desire?
Feel into this for a moment.
And further ahead in time,
But already on its way,
Is the beautiful tulips.
Still beneath the surface,
They are gathering strength.
They are not visible yet,
But they are not far away.
Not everything needs to be visible to be real.
And that's the same in your life.
We are growing,
We are evolving all the time.
Give nourish to that thought.
And now try to see yourself.
Who are you today?
It can be a difficult question to reflect on,
But what comes up?
Are they uplifting thoughts or less positive ones?
The thoughts you have give you an indication of what you may need to take care of within yourself.
You are amazing and truly wonderful,
Just as you are.
When we bring attention to things we want to change in our life and within us,
It is important not to look down on what is here and now.
Because right now,
The person you are today is choosing to take time for yourself and do a meditation.
And that shows that you want to care for yourself and you are doing it.
So even if we want to grow,
It does not mean diminishing who we are today.
It's really important.
You are wonderful,
Amazing,
And you will not be here if you weren't who you are.
Now think one month ahead.
Not as a goal,
But as a development.
What within you has shifted a little,
Or maybe a lot?
What has received a bit more light in your life?
Are there things you want to change?
How much have they grown in a month?
Have you nourished them to move forward?
Be in this thought and this question for a little while.
Now think six months ahead.
The season has changed.
Something within you has grown more.
You may have noticed it,
Or perhaps you are still like a flower growing beneath the soil and that has not yet emerged.
And that is completely okay.
In our world we believe in rushing,
Pushing forward,
But that is not the right thing to do.
The feeling within us as we grow and create changes should come from trust,
Safety,
And the knowing that it will happen no matter when.
We have to trust it,
Even when we can't see it,
Because it is there.
Now see one year ahead.
You are at the same time of the year,
Springtime.
Now I want you to visualize yourself as you wish your life to be in next year,
In one year.
Where are you?
Are you in the same place?
Or has something changed?
Visualize where you want to be.
What are you wearing?
How do you look?
And how do you feel inside and in your body?
Imagine the version of yourself you wish to be.
Not because you are not good enough now,
Because you absolutely are.
But who do you want to be?
What wishes do you have?
What desires do you have?
How do you want to live your life?
Take a moment to walk around in the place where you are and let your future self show you what has happened and how much you have grown.
Now you can choose to stay here in this feeling and with the future self as long as you wish.
I will soon stop talking and the music will continue.
And if you want you can turn off the meditation or just be there with you and just feel and visualize who will you be a year from now.
What changes have you made?
How does your days look?
Your mornings?
Your evenings?
So be there if you want.
But when you decide to come back to this time,
Take a few breaths and open your eyes.
