A meditation.
To experience your mind.
Like the vastness of the ocean.
Let's reduce any anxiety you may be feeling in this present moment.
Close your eyes.
And take a moment to relax your body.
Soften any tension that you may be holding onto.
Within your stomach or your shoulders.
And find a posture.
That feels not only relaxed but also alert.
Rest your hands in an easy,
Effortless way.
And with your eyes closed.
Take a few calming deep breaths.
Now go ahead and scan your awareness to feel all the sensations moving through your body at this time.
Wherever possible.
To soften and release the areas you can sense physical tension within.
And down.
Just let your attention move inward.
Gently focus on the breath moving in and out of the lungs.
Let your attention wander towards wherever the breath comes most naturally to you.
For some.
The gentle sensations of air moving through the nose feels easiest.
For others,
It's the natural feel of the breath rising and falling within the chest.
You can also bring your attention to your belly through deep diaphragmatic breaths.
With this attention.
You can feel the diaphragm under your lungs,
Pulling in air and expanding your belly as you breathe in.
And when the air is released from the lungs as you breathe out.
The belly then moves gently back inwards.
Now see if you can let your awareness ride the wave of the breath wherever it feels most comfortable to you.
Whether that's through your nose,
Or your chest,
Or perhaps your abdomen.
Or possibly.
You could just feel your whole body breathing.
Just let your attention ride the wave of the breath.
In whatever way feels most natural to you.
As you're sensing your breath in and out.
Also sense that your mind is as fast as the beautiful ocean.
From that deep,
Dark place,
You can look upward towards the surface,
Where the waves seem intimidating and rough.
But no matter what challenges are cresting like waves on the surface of your life,
The conditions deep within the ocean of your mind are always calm and clear.
And just by sensing your breath.
You're able to access the stillness of the mind,
Truly as vast as the ocean.
We're from this deep and very peaceful place.
You can look upward at the waves on the surface as just your thoughts,
Emotions,
And conditions of the mind.
Can you notice the fleeting thoughts and the emotions right there on the surface of your mind?
Watch as they come and go quite quickly.
In and out of your awareness each day.
Like the waves on top of the ocean.
But by sensing your breath,
You can always bring yourself back to a peaceful place below the surface,
To feel that profound depth of calm within the mind.
And when a thought,
Feeling,
Memory,
Or sensation arises,
You can warmly and calmly take note of it.
And simply redirect your attention back to the awareness of your breath.
And by letting your attention return to the breath.
You are able to sense and observe these activities of the mind as just activities.
And not the totality of who you are in any way.
See if you can let yourself enjoy the tranquility that comes from really sensing the breath fully and deeply.
Know that just focusing your mind on your breathing will always bring you back to a deep place of calm and clarity.
And now.
When you're ready.
You can slowly let your eyes open.
May you bring this same gentle awareness to the rest of your day,
Feeling relaxed in your body and within your mind.
All my love.
I am.
