Aman Aman/ Nour El Kadhar (Light of Destiny). Music & Words: Marun Tannus (SOCAN). “Aman, Aman” is an expression used by Arabic singers to initiate a prayer. It is the call intended to open the gates of heaven for the subsequent plea. Following the Mawal (vocal solo) sung by Najwa Gibran, the poetry of Nour El Kadhar describes the beloved as the moon, the source of destiny’s light, the order of love and the one who exists from the beginning of life to the end of time.
