The Silk Worm | Rumi Poem
by Wood
Rumi’s poem “The Silkworm” offers a gentle yet powerful reminder of the soul’s creative and spiritual potential. Rumi invites us to consider what beauty and purpose might emerge when we listen to the quiet wisdom within. The dialogue between the speaker and the heart symbolizes our inner knowing. The heart doesn’t argue or explain—it simply says “yes,” with deep, silent confidence. That “yes” begins a journey of spiritual creation that, once started, never ends. Ultimately, Rumi is reminding us that the sacred lives within us. When we listen to the quiet voice of the heart and trust its power, we can live lives of profound service, love, and transformation. Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, popularly known as "Rumi", is a 13th-century Sufi poet. Today, he is recognised as one of the greatest poets who ever lived, due in part to how his words seem to speak to the Divine.
