New Blossoms | Rumi Poem
by Wood
This poem by Rumi is a gentle call to seek wisdom from those who have truly lived it. It warns against superficial advice and false promises, urging us to follow kindness, inner clarity, and steady growth. In that way, we deepen our understanding and move closer to love and truth. Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, popularly known as "Rumi", is a 13th-century Sufi poet. Today, he is recognised as one of the greatest poets who ever lived, due in part to how his words seem to speak to the divine. Photo by Camille Villanueava. Translation by Coleman Barks.
