Here's a wonderful poem by the great Rumi. Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, popularly known as "Rumi", is a 13th-century Sufi poet. Today he is recognised as one of the greatest poets who ever lived, due in part to how his words seem to speak to the divine. Love and gratitude to Coleman Barks for his beautiful translations and dedication. Photo by Greg Rakozy.

Dear soul,

When the condition comes that we call being a lover,

There is no patience and no repenting.

Both become huge absurdities.

See regret as a worm and love as a dragon.

Same changeable weather.

Love a quality that wants nothing.

For this kind of lover,

Love of anything or anyone is unreal.

Here the source and object are one.
