David Campbell | Wang Da Wei

DaWei is a mindfulness practitioner and educator with a particular interest in making mindfulness practical, accessible, and relevant to everyday life. He has been practising meditation for around seven years, exploring approaches including mindfulness, Zen, Vipassanā, breathwork, and compassion-based practices. Alongside his personal practice, DaWei facilitates mindfulness sessions for students and is currently completing an MSc in Mindfulness Studies at the University of Aberdeen. His academic interests include the psychology of mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, and the ways contemplative practices can help people respond more skilfully to stress and difficult experiences. His approach is grounded and non-religious. Rather than trying to “empty the mind” or achieve a particular state, he encourages people to become curious about their experience—including the breath, body, thoughts, emotions, sounds, and the world around them. DaWei’s sessions may include mindful breathing, body awareness, guided meditation, mindful movement, listening, and other simple practices designed to bring attention into the present moment. He particularly enjoys introducing mindfulness to people who are new to meditation or who have previously found traditional meditation difficult or intimidating.
