Many times we hold to certain ideas very strongly,
And we hold them as our own ideas.
Yet,
While it's important to have integrity,
Sometimes we adopt certain ideas because of others who have shared information with us that may or may not be true.
I feel one of the keys to life is sorting out what is really true for oneself based on observation rather than on just rumor or even gossip.
One of the most difficult things to do sometimes is to see something for what it really is.
The truth of something is not always apparent and can,
At times,
Take research,
And it takes looking.
Now,
To actually look at something someone shared with us,
Whether it be a friend,
A casual acquaintance,
Or possibly even a media source of one kind or another,
And look to see if it's really true can take not only discipline and sometimes a bit of time,
But heck,
It can even take some courage to really look at something,
Look to see something for what it actually is,
Not just what people or media outlets have gossiped about or what seems to be common knowledge.
Well,
You know,
Discovering that a piece of common knowledge might be incorrect is sometimes a real wake-up call,
But seeing things more clearly for how they actually are can be one of the happiest things ever.
If it's something that can make a difference in our lives to see through possible lies and get to the truth,
It's usually the best approach and can make for a much happier existence.
