Who am I now?
A midlife question.
Have you ever looked at your life and midlife and thought,
Who am I now?
Not because everything is falling apart.
Maybe from the outside,
Everything actually looks pretty good.
But somewhere.
.
.
Along the way.
You realize you've gotten really good at being everything.
To everyone else.
The mom.
The wife and partner.
The daughter,
The friend.
The one who remembers everything.
The one who keeps things moving.
And then one day there's a little voice underneath all of it asking.
But what about me?
Hi,
I'm Tanya Phillips.
I'm a meditation guide and I'm also a woman navigating midlife right alongside you.
And I think one of the strangest parts of this season is realizing that the version of you that got you here might not be actually the version of you anymore.
And that can feel uncomfortable.
Because we're all so used to knowing our roles.
But when our kids start.
Needing us differently.
Our bodies start changing.
Friendships dissolve.
Our parents get older.
And all the things we once thought mattered so much.
Maybe don't anymore.
There can be this feeling of Okay,
So now what?
I think sometimes we're so quick to label that feeling as a crisis.
But what if it isn't?
What if it's an invitation?
An invitation to get curious about yourself again.
Not to reinvent your entire life.
Not to blow everything up.
And definitely not to have it all figured out today.
Just to start asking yourself some questions.
You may not have us.
Yourself some of these in a really long time.
What do I actually enjoy?
What do I want more of?
What am I ready to let go of?
What feels like me now.
And maybe the most importantly.
When do I feel most?
Like myself.
Because I don't think finding yourself in midlife is necessarily about becoming someone new.
Sometimes it's about remembering pieces of ourselves.
That get buried underneath years of responsibility.
And sometimes it's about realizing you've changed.
And giving yourself permission to change.
That's where mindfulness can be such a beautiful tool.
Because mindfulness isn't about clearing your mind or.
Definitely not about having all the answers.
It's about paying attention.
So right now,
Whatever you're doing,
Will you just take a slow breath with me?
Slow breath in.
Slow exhale out.
And ask yourself.
What do I need more of in my life this season?
Don't force an answer.
Just notice.
What comes up.
Maybe it's rest.
Creativity.
Friendship.
Adventure.
Movement.
Connection.
Maybe.
You don't know yet.
And that,
My friend,
Is okay too.
Midlife doesn't have to be the season where you finally have everything figured out.
Maybe it's the season where you finally give yourself permission to ask the questions.
To change your mind.
To try something new.
To want something that's just.
Yours.
And to become curious.
Curious about the woman you are now.
You haven't missed your chance.
To know yourself.
You're still becoming.
And maybe that's one of the most beautiful parts.
Of this.
I'm Tanya,
And if you're somewhere in the middle,
Figuring it out too.
You,
My friend,
Are in good company.
I want you to remember.
Perfect.
Is fine.
Until next time.
