Have you ever reached the end of a day and thought about everything you didn't get done?
The things you meant to finish.
The conversations you wish you'd handled differently.
The little promises you made to yourself that somehow got lost along the way?
And even after everything you did,
Managed to do.
There's still that quiet feeling that perhaps it wasn't enough.
I think so many of us know that feeling.
But I wonder what might happen if,
Just for a few minutes,
We stopped measuring our days by everything we have accomplished.
And instead made a little room for the person who lived through them.
Today we're going to practice something simple.
Allowing ourselves to be enough right where we are.
I invite you to find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Allow yourself to settle in to the surface beneath you.
And whenever you're ready.
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in.
Softly let it go.
Again,
Breathing in.
.
.
Breathing out.
Notice the gentle weight of your body resting.
Your shoulders softening.
Your hands growing still.
And for the next few moments.
There's nothing you need to catch up on.
No list waiting to be finished.
No expectation you need to meet.
Just a little space to breathe the things we overlook You know we're often so quick to notice what we haven't done.
But what about the things we quietly carry?
The effort no one saw The moments we keep going when we're tired.
The kindness we offered.
The little ways we showed up even when we weren't feeling our best And perhaps there were moments today when you weren't as patient as you wanted to be.
Or you needed more rest than you expected.
Or things simply didn't go the way you'd hoped.
There's room for those moments too.
We don't have to turn every difficult day into another reason to be hard on ourselves.
Just imagine for a moment.
A quiet afternoon when the rain begins to fall.
The sky grows a little grey.
The world slows down.
And for a while,
Everything seems content.
We don't ask the rain to hurry.
We don't expect the clouds to apologize for covering the sun.
We simply allow the weather to be what it is.
I wonder if we could offer ourselves a little of that same patience.
On the days when our energy feels different.
When our hearts feel a little heavier.
And when our best doesn't look quite the way we imagined.
Perhaps we can remember that we're allowed to have seasons too.
Days of sunshine.
Days of rain.
And days when we're simply finding our way.
If it feels comfortable to you.
Gently rest a hand over your heart.
And notice the warmth of your hand.
Quietly offer yourself these words I can begin again as often as I need.
Let those words settle softly.
Nothing to force,
Nothing to prove.
As we begin to close,
I'd love to leave you with a little thought.
Sometimes we spend so much time reaching for the next thing that we forget to notice where we are And perhaps there will always be another task.
Another expectation.
Another little thing asking for our attention.
But somewhere along the way.
We deserve to feel the quiet comfort of sane.
I've done what I could with the day I had.
And for today?
That is enough.
