Welcome to your intro to EFT practice.
EFT tapping is a modality created from modern psychology and traditional Chinese medicine.
This practice has been so supportive for me in supporting to meet myself with where I am at,
Allowing energy to move in my system rather than resisting,
Trying to fix or change anything.
Tapping is such a beautiful practice because you can do it anywhere,
Anytime and once you learn these points you'll be able to implement it into your daily life,
Noticing its benefits in supporting you to emotionally regulate your nervous system,
Supporting you with pain,
Thought patterns and beliefs.
So when you're ready,
Finding a comfortable seated position and coming to tap on the side of the hand.
So this first point is on the side of the hand underneath the pinky,
It's on the little fleshy point there and this is where we say our setup statement.
So on this point we're just meeting whatever's alive in our system,
Whatever issue it is we're working on,
Pain,
Emotion,
Blocked energy,
Sensation or belief.
So you might say something here like even though I'm noticing this pain in my head,
If you've got a headache,
I choose to love and honor myself as I am.
So we say our setup statement about three times,
So you would say something like even though I'm noticing this and you just insert what you're experiencing,
I choose to meet myself with compassion here.
And even though I'm experiencing all of this,
Whatever it is,
Sadness,
Pain,
I choose to love and honor myself as I am.
So that's our setup statement on the side of the hand point.
This just lets our system know what we're working with and this point has a beautiful ability to work with this concept of secondhand gains.
So the things that we hold on to that may be negative or blocks we hold on to because we're kind of getting something from them.
This could be like a subconscious reason why we're holding on to these things.
For example,
It might be something like having pain and getting attention from having that pain or something like that.
Or maybe having a belief,
So then having that belief keeps you small and means you don't need to move through the fear of doing something new in your life.
So this point is beautiful for helping to dissolve secondhand gains and it's also a really great point for indecision.
So if you're ever indecisive about something,
You could tap on this point on the side of the hand and just kind of talk out loud your options for what you're indecisive about and this point could support with the energy to move and to find clarity there.
So the next points on the inside of the eyebrows,
It's just on the ends of the eyebrows there where the hair starts.
You'll kind of feel when you're tapping where it feels best to tap for you.
You kind of feel like you're tapping into something and the more you tap the more you'll kind of find your flow with it.
So this is a bilateral point,
You can either tap on both inner eyebrow points here or just one and this is where we start our reminder statements.
So we're just letting our body know that we're meeting it as it is,
Letting our system know we're meeting it as it is,
Letting our psyche know we're meeting it as it is.
So for example,
If you have a headache you could hear say something like,
All of this pain in my head.
The next points on the outside of the eyes,
It's just in front of the temples.
So here again you would find just what you're feeling,
All of this pain in my head.
Tapping underneath the eyes,
This point is just below where the pupils are,
Just at the top of the cheekbone there.
You could notice what color,
What texture this sensation has in your system.
The next point is tapping underneath the nose,
Above the top lip.
This is unilateral so you only need one finger to tap on this point.
Just continuing to notice the sensation in your body that you're working with.
So with tapping we turn towards the block or the unpleasant sensation with the understanding that this is just energy.
It's all simply energy and this is just energy that's got blocked with attached thought forms,
Meaning,
Belief to it and so by tapping and acknowledging that it's here we allow the energy to move.
The next point is underneath the bottom lip and above the chin.
At some points you might just take a breath into the sensation,
Let the air go.
The next point is underneath the bottom of the collarbone so you can straighten out your arms and then bend your elbows and where your hands land underneath the collarbones there,
That's generally a good way to find that point.
Just notice how it feels to tap underneath the collarbones here.
The next point is underneath the armpits.
It's about three finger widths down from the armpits or where the bra strap would be.
Just tapping on this point you can either chicken wing your arms or wrap your arms around in front of you like you're giving yourself a cuddle.
Then the last point is the crown of the head.
Thousands meeting place point in Chinese medicine.
As you tap on this point could you breathe all the way up through your body and as you exhale just get a sense of landing in this moment.
Integrating all that you've just learnt,
All of these tapping points.
Bring the hands down in your lap and just notice how you're feeling.
And you've just learnt the entire basic recipe sequence for EFT tapping.
Just notice how you're feeling here having tapped on these points if it's your first time tapping.
Maybe just reflecting on what points felt best for you to tap on.
Knowing that you can use this tool any time you need to.
I love to tap when I'm in the car just tapping on my favorite point underneath the collarbones and just saying out loud anything I'm feeling just helps the energy to move.
Sometimes I tap when I go for a walk.
