Namaste.

For purposes of recitation,

Study,

And memorization,

The Sanskrit slokas on this recording are being offered for use to devotees and students of the SRV Association.

Many of these chants are utilized in SRV functions,

Such as aarti,

Satsang,

Puja,

Meditation,

And at class and before meals.

I will begin with the seven peace chants,

Reciting each sloka and following that with the English translation,

Then chanting each sloka again.

Both the Sanskrit and the English versions are to be memorized.

First the peace chant from the Yajur Veda,

Used and recited traditionally before class and at satsang.

Om Sahana Vavatu Sahana U Bhunaktu Sahaviryam Kharavahai Tejasvi Navaditamastu Ma Vidveshavahai Om Shanti Shanti Shanti May Brahman protect us.

May Brahman sustain us.

May Brahman illumine our thinking process.

May we not find fault with each other,

With the world,

Or with the teachings,

And may what we study be a source of inspiration to us eternally.

Om Peace Peace Peace May peace be unto us and may peace be unto all.

Om Hari Om And now chant together.

Om Sahana Vavatu Sahana U Bhunaktu Sahaviryam Kharavahai Tejasvi Navaditamastu Ma Vidveshavahai Om Shanti Shanti Shanti And now the Peace Invocation from the Rik Veda.

Om Jayu Shanti Antariksham Shanti Prithivi Shanti Appa Shanti Osha Dayah Shanti Vanashpata Shanti Vishwadeva Shanti Brahma Shanti Sarvam Shanti Shantireva Shanti Sama Shanti Redhi Om Shanti Shanti Shanti There is peace in the sky.

There is peace on earth.

There is peace in the land and peace in the waters.

There is peace with the trees,

Creepers,

Herbs and flowers.

There is peace with the gods and peace with man.

Peace with the goddesses and peace with woman and child.

Fairly peace is in peace and Brahman is this ineffable peace.

May this peace enter into us and permeate us to the very core of our being.

Om Peace Peace Peace And now chant together.

Om Jayu Shanti Antariksham Shanti Prithivi Shanti Appa Shanti Osha Dayah Shanti Vanashpata Shanti Vishwadeva Shanti Brahma Shanti Sarvam Shanti Shantireva Shanti Sama Shanti Redhi Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Thank you! A pithy intro to two beautiful mantras. Are the phonetics available? It would make it easier to follow along and recite. Possibly as a link?

I don't know Sanskrit but just immersing in the rhythm and sound of the chants (while knowing the English meaning) was very calming. Shanti🦋
