Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. "May all being, everywhere, be happy and free." This Hindu mantra moves us from a point of the "I, " the individual to the "We," the collective. By using this mantra as a Dharmic practice we can hold both a sacred intention for ourselves and our own healing as well as setting an intention for those around us to be uplifted. Come join me in singing this mantra together as we uplift each other. Namaste!

Hi,

And thank you so much for joining me today for our mantra practice.

Today we'll be working with the mantra,

Loka Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.

Roughly translated,

This means,

May all beings be happy and free.

This particular mantra moves from the I,

The individual,

To the we,

To the universal connection of all beings on this planet.

As we chant this mantra,

We invoke the web of life that weaves through all things with the knowledge that as I am healed,

May we all be healed.

I'll also be combining it in this particular practice with the mantra,

Aum Shanti Aum,

Which means peace.

Often when I do a mantra practice,

Not only do I like to set an intention for myself,

But I also like to set an intention for another as well,

To hold them in the space of this mantra practice.

I'll have you take a deep breath in,

Breathing in all the way from Mother Earth up through your spine and connecting with your higher self and exhaling all the way back down through your spine and again connecting with Mother Earth below you.

Now take the time to gently close your eyes and bring your hands into Anjali Mudra,

Which is hands in prayer pose in front of your heart center.

You can gently touch your thumbs against your chest and connecting in this mudra,

This prayer pose,

Allow the intention that you would like to hold for yourself to arise within you,

Showing you what it is that you would like to uplift today for yourself in this practice.

Take the next few moments to hear what your intention is during this practice for yourself.

And take a deep breath in,

Inhaling all the way up through your spine and again exhaling,

Bringing that energy back through your spine,

Connecting to Mother Earth.

Now let's move into setting the intention for another.

For as you chant the mantra,

You can also hold space for others as well.

This allows us to use the mantra in service for another.

In this prayerful space,

Allow the intention for another to arise in you and show you who you would like to hold in your heart.

It may be an individual,

Friend,

Family member,

Coworker,

It might be Mother Earth,

It might be a community that you know needs uplifting.

So allow that second intention to show itself to you.

Take a deep breath in and exhale.

Holding these two intentions in your heart,

Hands in Anjali Mudra or prayer position,

We'll now move into the mantra practice together.
