So settle into comfort.
Allow your body to remain alert.
Yet soft and resting.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
And let it go.
And another.
Take a deep breath in and as you release it,
Allow your shoulders to soften,
Your jaw to relax.
Let your body settle into the support beneath you.
How wonderful that there's nowhere else you need to be and nothing you need to do for these next few minutes.
So,
Just allow yourself to arrive.
And notice the rhythm of your breath.
Notice how your body is feeling.
Gently scan through your body noticing any sensations.
Just notice what is here.
Change nothing.
Fix nothing.
So I'd like to invite you to remember a moment,
And we're not looking for a perfect moment or an ecstatic moment,
Not the happiest day of your life.
I want you to remember a simple moment when something within you felt deeply at peace,
Perhaps sitting quietly with a cup of tea,
Maybe walking beside the sea,
Maybe just sitting with your dog's head on your lap.
Maybe you're on a walk,
Watching the light dance through the trees.
Perhaps something completely different,
But just allow this memory to arise naturally.
In this moment you felt completely at peace Now there's no need to relive the story.
Because this moment itself is simply a doorway,
A gentle portal leading you back to something deeper.
Because the peace that you felt in that moment wasn't created by the moment.
It was already within you.
The moment simply helped you to remember that feeling.
So now allow the memory to fade to the background.
And bring your attention to what remains.
How your body is feeling.
What is happening within your body as you recall this sensation,
This feeling of peace?
Perhaps there is a softening.
Supporting.
Spaciousness.
An openness around the heart.
Maybe something completely different.
There's no right or wrong,
Simply become curious.
Stay with that feeling.
Allow yourself to rest within it.
And perhaps as you stay here you can begin to notice something quietly unfolding.
A gentle appreciation.
And remembering.
Because in this moment you have remembered something true that beneath the noise beneath the striving beneath the endless movement of the mind there is inner peace and it has never left you.
Notice how this feels Where does it sit within your body?
Now with your next breath Imagine breathing gently into this feeling.
Not forcing it,
Simply giving it space,
As though each inhale offers it a little more room to grow,
And each exhale allows it to soften and melt into every part of your being.
With each soft breath,
Feel it spreading.
Through your chest,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Flowing into your belly.
You're back.
Your hips.
Your legs right down into your feet.
Until every cell of your body is gently bathed in this quiet warmth of peace.
And perhaps now you notice that this feeling can extend beyond your physical body,
Beyond your skin.
A gentle field of calm.
Surrounding you holding you emanating from you without effort your aura brighter.
Larger.
And you're not creating it,
You're simply allowing it to shine.
Rest here for a few minutes breathing.
Perceiving.
Remembering.
Know this,
That this place,
This peace is always within you.
It is not something you have to earn.
It's not something you can chase.
It is your natural state,
Sometimes forgotten,
But never lost.
And whenever life feels noisy,
Or hurried,
Or uncertain,
Perhaps you'll remember this feeling,
Not by searching for it,
But by becoming still enough to recognize it.
Because the doorway has always been here.
The peace has always been here.
So is the quiet gratitude that naturally blooms from it.
Take a deeper breath in Only let it go gently begin to notice the space around you once more.
Bring some movement to your fingers,
Your toes allow your eyes to softly open carry this quiet remembrance with you.
Into the rest of your day.
Om Shanti.
