Details

Wild & Well is an invitation to slow down, reset, and reconnect — with your body, your mind, and a community of like-minded women — on the wild Pacific coast of Panama. Hosted by Pause, a boutique yoga and Pilates studio in Durango, Colorado, this retreat blends two disciplines rarely offered together: a flowing yoga practice for flexibility and mindfulness, paired with strengthening Pilates for core, posture, and power. You'll move twice daily in an open-air, thatched-roof shala overlooking the ocean, then spend your afternoons however play or rest calls to you — surfing, SUP, hammock naps, spa treatments, journaling, or an excursion into the jungle. We're based at Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort in Cambutal, on the remote southern tip of Panama's Azuero Peninsula — one of Central America's most acclaimed boutique resorts, and a genuinely undiscovered alternative to more crowded retreat destinations. Days are nourished by farm-to-table meals crafted from fresh, local ingredients, and rounded out with excursions like jungle tours, waterfall hikes, stand-up paddleboarding, horseback riding, surfing and whale watching. This is a retreat for women who want both a challenge and a exhale — strength and softness, movement and stillness. You'll leave more grounded, stronger, and reconnected to what it feels like to feel well.

The Buddha Bar at Sansara is an oceanfront farm-to-table restaurant on Panama's Azuero Peninsula, where daily-caught Pacific fish, locally sourced produce from Cambutal-area farms, and vibrant Latin American flavors come together in chef-curated menus that are as nourishing as they are unforgettable. Set just steps from the ocean and overlooking the saltwater pool, it is the social and culinary heart of the Sansara experience - where sunrise breakfasts, post-surf lunches, and candlelit dinners unfold to the rhythm of the sea. Culinary Philosophy At Sansara, our culinary philosophy is rooted in connection - to the land, the ocean, and the local community. We proudly source our fruits, vegetables, and eggs from independent farmers throughout Cambutal and the greater Azuero region, while the fish served each day is caught fresh from the waters just beyond our bay. Our kitchen celebrates these ingredients through bold Panamanian and Latin American flavors, tropical influences, and ever-evolving chef-driven menus. Everything is crafted with intention - from house-made juices and wellness-forward dishes to small-batch kombucha brewed on-site. Our kitchen also accommodates vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets, ensuring every guest enjoys a personalized and nourishing dining experience. Oceanfront Dining at The Buddha Bar Set directly beside the saltwater pool with uninterrupted ocean views, the Buddha Bar is the heart of Sansara's social and culinary experience. From sunrise breakfasts, to sunset cocktails, it's where guests gather, connect and unwind over exceptional food and drink. Breakfast and lunch are offered à la carte, featuring vibrant, energizing dishes ideal for post-surf recovery or a relaxed midday meal. In the evenings, the experience evolves into chef-curated dining, including three-course menus, themed nights, and family-style dinners that highlight the richness and diversity of the region's flavors. Cocktails, Juices & Crafted Beverages Our bar program reflects the same commitment to freshness and creativity. Skilled bartenders prepare custom cocktails and mocktails using house-made juices, local spirits, and tropical ingredients, alongside a selection of craft beers and kombucha on tap. Each drink is designed to complement the rhythm of the day - whether it's a refreshing poolside sip or thoughtfully paired evening cocktail. Dining as Part of the Sansara Experience Dining at Sansara is seamlessly woven into the overall guest journey. All Sansara retreat and experience packages include three chef-prepared meals daily, from nourishing post-surf breakfasts to candlelit three-course dinners by the ocean - creating a holistic experience that connects wellness, community, and exceptional cuisine.

Testimonials

info

Where do you even begin to describe an experience this extraordinary? Our trip to Panama with Jolie and Hannah was nothing short of transformative. What started as a yoga and Pilates retreat became so much more—a powerful gathering of 25 women from different walks and stages of life, coming together to connect, support, encourage, and inspire one another in the most authentic way. From the moment we arrived, every detail exceeded expectations. The setting was breathtaking, and the team at Sansara created an experience that felt both luxurious and deeply intentional. From the beautifully designed accommodations and stunning grounds to the nourishing, thoughtfully prepared meals, every aspect of the retreat reflected care, excellence, and attention to detail. The staff seemed to anticipate every need, allowing us to fully relax and be present. Jolie and Hannah led two incredible practices each day in the open-air shala, just steps from the ocean. Their guidance, expertise, and genuine care created a space where everyone felt welcome, challenged, supported, and seen. The thoughtfulness they poured into every part of the week was evident, making the entire experience feel seamless and truly special. What I will remember most, however, is the sense of connection. The friendships formed, the conversations shared, the laughter, the vulnerability, and the encouragement from a group of remarkable women made this week unforgettable. I left feeling renewed, recharged, and deeply grateful—not only for the experience itself, but for the meaningful connections and memories that will stay with me for years to come. I cannot recommend this retreat highly enough. It was pure magic from beginning to end. ✨

A True Escape — This Retreat Will Reset Your Soul I booked the Pause retreat without doing much research and had only a vague idea of where it was located. Nothing quite prepared me for what awaited at the end of the road in this tiny Panamanian fishing village. From the moment we arrived, Jolie and Hannah had taken care of every detail — working closely with the resort so that the only thing on my to-do list was to breathe, move, and be present. They are the heartbeat of this experience. The setting has an untouched beauty all its own. Black sand beach stretching in both directions as far as you can walk, a full moon night sky, the lull of the ocean, and zero tourist noise — this is the kind of place that makes your nervous system exhale. The resort itself is a perfect paradox: small and boutique, with a quiet focus on barefoot luxury. Every meal was intentional, fresh, healthy, and genuinely delicious and daily smoothies and fresh fruit drinks were an added treat. Morning and afternoon yoga sessions led by Jolie and Hannah were both challenging and restorative with an incredible ocean view! Surfing was an absolute blast for all levels. The combination left my body feeling simultaneously worked and deeply at ease. The spa, daily excursions, beach reads, and long cruiser rides along the shore filled the rest of the days in the best possible way. The staff throughout brought warmth and genuine care that made every guest feel special. The week was grounding in a way that matched the whole ethos of the place. I returned refreshed and rejuvenated — so much so that when I left for a Monday morning meeting, I walked out of the house barefoot. Like I was still in Cambutal.
