Details

On the southwestern coast of Portugal, just outside the seaside town of Vila Nova de Milfontes, this heartfelt offering sits on the serene grounds of Cocoon. An intimate yoga and wellness retreat, it is an invitation to slow down and immerse yourself in the rhythm of the land. Guided by Dolly Reno and Kevin Robertson, the experience nourishes body and spirit through mindful movement, meaningful connection, and deep rest. Days unfold around a boutique farm kept with care, surrounded by rolling countryside, tended gardens, and open skies. Meals are fresh and farm to table, drawn from the gardens and prepared from seasonal local ingredients. Daily yoga, meditation, and breathwork practices create space to quiet the mind and restore the nervous system. Beyond the grounds, the Atlantic coastline opens onto some of the world's most beautiful and untouched beaches, cliffs, and crystal clear water. Created as a sanctuary from the pace and pressure of everyday life, The Respite is a chance to soften, reset, and come home to yourself.

Cocoon Portugal is a 275-acre coastal farm + retreat, offering inspiration + community for the modern traveler. It's also pure magic, where between the oversized hammocks and the coastal bluffs, you'll start to lose track of time. The kind of place where each morning is a celebration, practicing under the canopy of old-growth pines, but so is each evening, with world-class wine and fascinating dinner conversation. We're situated on the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the Alentejo region, which is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline and charming white-washed villages. From Lisbon, we’re about two hours drive south, entirely dependent on how many espressos you’ve had. (from Faro, we’re slightly closer) The ocean, with bluffs, trails, and sandy coves, is a 15-minute drive away. Our 11-bedroom, 10-bathroom property can host up to 25 guests.

Cocoon believes a nourishing meal and a delicious feast don't need to be mutually exclusive. All food is farm to table, with most of the produce coming from their property or a nearby farm. A typical breakfast includes eggs, local fruit, Greek yogurt, homemade granola, honey, homemade jam, slow-rise bread, and a daily tonic. Lunch is often a bowl, a base of ancient grains like farro topped with avocado, roasted vegetables, nori, or mixed greens. For dinner, expect Indian and Japanese curries, Mediterranean stews, legumes, locally raised chicken or fresh caught fish, rice, and salad. There is also an outdoor wood-fired oven for a special evening of handmade pizza and a spritz bar. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advanced notice.

Testimonials

I've been going to Noble for a long time, I love Dolly, and I wanted to dive into more of a yoga practice. Coming up the first night, having the room candlelit and being able to drop into a space with so much beauty and warmth, this retreat provides a lovely location and amazing teachers. I would recommend it to anyone who loves yoga, and even to those who don't.

Prior to coming to the retreat I had only been to two yoga sessions in my life, but this is a different experience. You immerse yourself into the relaxation. Even if you're not a yogi, the experience of just being here, focusing on yourself and coming to a special place is meaningful in its own way.

Rod L., Canada

I wanted to come on the retreat so I could spend quality time with my favorite people and really take some time for myself to rest, do some yoga, eat good food, and nurture myself. I would say one hundred percent, book the retreat. It's a life-changing experience.
