Details
This retreat is about slowing down enough to return to the natural rhythm and flow of life. Not the pace we’re used to pushing through, but the quieter rhythm that’s always there when we stop forcing and start paying attention. The rhythm of breath. Of the land. Of simple, meaningful moments unfolding without urgency. Mornings begin with gentle movement and awareness of breath. Days open into long views of the Italian countryside, where time seems to stretch. You’ll walk through vineyards that have been cared for over generations, noticing the scent of the air, the stillness, the patience of the process. You’ll watch olives move from tree to oil, then taste what that becomes. You’ll make pasta by hand, guided by the daughters of a fourth-generation estate. There’s nothing to rush toward here. As the week unfolds, something begins to shift. When you stop pushing, you begin to fall into a different way of being. More present. More aware. More connected. The kind of state where you are fully engaged in what’s in front of you, not thinking ahead or behind. Just here. This is what it means to return to rhythm and flow. Not something you have to create, but something you remember how to allow.

La Dogana is a family-run historic estate overlooking Lake Trasimeno, surrounded by olive groves. The venue is made up of the Lake House (11 apartments) and the Coach House (an independent house about 300 meters away). Apartments include a living room with a kitchenette, bathroom, and one or two bedrooms. Each apartment has an Italian moka coffee maker, bed linen, bathroom and pool towels, and natural/organic soaps (hand & body, shampoo, and dish soap). Near the Lake House, you will find our facility house: free washing machine with natural soap, microwave, kettle, fridge with ice, tea, instant coffee, sugar, olive oil, extra toilet paper, and extra pool towels – always free for all guests. We do not have a dryer; each apartment has a clothes hanger to dry clothes in the sun.
