Details

Silence, stillness, deep connection — a gentle return to nature, and a return to yourself. In a world that constantly pulls us outward, nature invites us inward again — back into presence, simplicity, and truth. The Earth holds a quiet wisdom that cannot be taught through words, only experienced. Nature knows how to grow, restore, adapt, and flourish in harmony with life itself. Even after fire, storms, and destruction, she regenerates. She gives endlessly, receives fully, and remains deeply connected to the rhythm of creation. For centuries, humanity has drifted away from this connection. Yet when we slow down enough to truly listen, the natural world reminds us of what we have always known deep within ourselves. This retreat was created as a space for that remembrance. Rather than filling every moment with constant activity and stimulation, the intention for this experience around being instead of doing, spaciousness instead of pressure, and presence instead of performance. There will be movement, ceremonies, conversations, and shared experiences — but equally important are the quiet moments in between. The pauses. The stillness. The deepest transformation happens not when we are trying to become something, but when we finally allow ourselves to simply be.

There is something profoundly special about this land that we will be on. You feel it in the soil, the water, the trees, and the silence that surrounds it. The land is alive, deeply cared for, and held with reverence. It invites you to slow down, soften, reconnect, and remember the parts of yourself that the modern world often asks you to forget. Nestled 1000m above sea level on the southern slopes of Mount Batukaru — Bali’s second highest and deeply revered volcano — Batu Karu Coffee Estate rests on land long regarded as sacred by the Balinese people. It is also said to rest along the Earth’s ancient ley lines — energetic pathways where currents from different parts of the world converge, harmonise, and flow through the land. Home to one of Bali’s nine directional temples, this region carries a quiet, powerful presence where ancient water temples, rice terraces, and traditional Subak irrigation systems continue to thrive in harmony with nature. Unlike many retreat spaces in Bali, Batu Karu Coffee Estate feels deeply alive and authentic — not only because of the land itself, but because of the people who care for it. Today, Batu Karu Coffee Estate is more than a retreat venue — it is a living ecosystem of vibrant gardens, healing foods, sacred stillness, and farm-to-table nourishment grown directly from the Earth with care and intention.

Food is an integral part of this journey — not only as nourishment for the body, but as medicine for the mind, heart, and soul. Each meal is lovingly prepared using fresh organic ingredients sourced directly from the estate and surrounding local farms. Rooted in a true farm-to-table philosophy, the food served is vibrant, seasonal, and deeply connected to the living energy of the land. Meals are predominantly vegetarian, inspired by traditional Balinese flavours and healing wisdom prepared with care, intention, and simplicity. There is a vitality that comes from food grown in healthy soil and harvested with respect. You can taste the difference — not just in flavour, but in energy. This is food that grounds, restores, and nourishes on every level.

Schedule

Rather than filling every moment with constant activity and stimulation, the intention for this experience around being instead of doing, spaciousness instead of pressure, and presence instead of performance. There will be movement, ceremonies, conversations, and shared experiences — but equally important are the quiet moments in between. The pauses. The stillness. The exhale. The deepest transformation happens not when we are trying to become something, but when we finally allow ourselves to simply be. The retreat begins with a traditional Balinese opening ceremony guided by a local village mangku (priest), honouring the spirits of the land and inviting harmony, protection, and blessings for our time together. Rooted in ancient Balinese wisdom, this sacred ceremony offers a beautiful way to enter the retreat space with reverence, presence, and intention. Each day begins and ends with practices designed to bring the body, breath, and mind back into harmony. These techniques are passed down within the Sri Vidya Lineage of Traditional Yoga designed to guide us back to union with the self, back to the Truth. Afternoons will vary depending on weather and how the day feels. Activities can include: Sound Baths: Using sound as a bridge into stillness and inner connection, these immersive sessions help calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and support deep energetic rest. Allow yourself to simply lie back, receive, and journey inward through vibration, resonance, and frequency. Waterfall Hike: Journey through lush jungle pathways and panoramic views of the Jatiluwih rice terraces (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), we hike towards a secret waterfall nestled within the heart of Jatiluwih. More than just an adventure, this experience is an opportunity to reconnect with the raw beauty and living presence of the Earth — breathing deeply, grounding fully, and remembering simplicity. Estate Nature Treks: Wander through vibrant gardens, forests, and living landscapes surrounding the retreat estate. These treks invite a slower way of relating with nature — observing, listening, and experiencing the intelligence and vitality of the land with greater presence and awareness. Balinese Water Purification Ceremony (on one of the days): Melukat is a traditional Balinese water purification ritual used to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. Guided gently through this sacred experience, we enter the waters with prayer and intention — releasing what no longer serves and creating space for renewal, clarity, and inner balance. Evenings will be reserved for deep connection over dinner and early nights. One of the greatest medicines is space. Throughout the retreat, there will be ample time to rest, integrate, reflect, and connect organically with like-hearted souls. Whether through shared conversations, quiet moments in nature, or simply being together in presence, these connections often become one of the most meaningful parts of the journey.

My Egypt pilgrimage can be described as mystical and otherworldly. I knew I had a calling for this trip when I started having visions and dreams of Egypt. I didn’t know it would come so soon, as I had just visited another sacred sight two months prior. Understand that every choice point we come across is based on the level of consciousness we are at. There is no right or wrong choice, but each time I answer the call, there is a vibrational shift in my awareness. This trip was a transcendent shift for me. First, the energy of the group I was with was simply amazing. My roommate was a God send, she was exactly what I needed to ground me through the trip. I felt connected to each sister on some level, like this is definitely not the only life time in which we have known one another. The trip was well organized, our tour guide was knowledgeable, and the hotels and cruise were as promised. Two weeks upon returning, I am still processing and integrating information from this experience. The beautiful people I connected with and the new awareness I have come to embody is crucial for this sacred mission for humanity. I am so grateful that I have answered the call.

I recently returned from an unforgettable journey to Egypt with Shora, and I felt that the trip was a beautiful opportunity to reset my understanding about my spiritual journey. It enable me to venture deep into understanding my inner self, embracing my insecurities, fears, and triggers with compassion, and nurturing every facet of my mind, body, and soul. I felt very transformative. Shora organised the entire trip with such meticulous care that every moment felt at ease and safe. The schedule was clearly outlined, and the local guides were fantastic and truly felt connected through his explanation about the culture and history. Every detail was attended to, including special dietary needs, which made the journey even more comfortable and personal. It’s a journey of self-discovery and adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend joining a future trip with Shora.
