Details

You care fiercely. About your work. Your relationships. Your community. You notice what others miss. You step in. You hold things together. For many women, these ways of caring began as adaptations that helped them stay connected, safe, and needed. And they can become so familiar that it becomes difficult to notice just how much you're carrying. What would it feel like to spend a day not having to hold everything together? This retreat is an invitation to slow down, soften, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that can get lost when you're always caring for everyone else. A day to be deeply held. Rather than learning another strategy for managing yourself, we'll create space to experience something different—more spaciousness, more connection to your body, more tenderness toward yourself, and the possibility of being cared for without having to earn it. You’ll walk away with: - An embodied experience of being cared for—not just caring for others - A deeper sense of compassion and tenderness toward yourself - A felt sense of connection and community, and the reminder that you don't have to carry everything alone - A somatic experience of softness, spaciousness, and slowing down - Creative and embodied practices you can return to when you need to reconnect with yourself - A renewed sense of what it means to care deeply while including yourself in that care - The experience of being witnessed, supported, and held in community

Schedule

Our day will begin at 10:00 am with an opening ceremony and group agreements to help us create a safe, supportive container for the day. We’ll then move into yoga, mindfulness, and somatic release practices, followed by time for journaling, personal reflection, and group discussion. From there, we’ll gather for lunch and have some spaciousness built into the day. You’ll have time to rest, take a walk in nature, or simply enjoy some quiet time on your own—whatever feels most supportive. After lunch, we’ll transition into guided imagery and parts work, followed by expressive arts as a way to explore and creatively process what’s emerging. We’ll close the day with time for reflection and group discussion, followed by a final closing ceremony. The day will conclude at 4:00 pm.

Testimonials

info

“This retreat cracked me open in the best way. I’ve never felt so held—by a space, by a person, by a group of women. Dez was one of the kindest, most grounded, safe humans I’ve ever met. She created a safe container for all of us. For our emotions, our stories, our silence, our tears, our joy. I felt deeply seen without even having to say a word. And when I did speak, there was no judgment—just love. Deep, real love.”

"I felt truly seen, held, known, and appreciated. Maybe more so than ever before in my life because it was from a group of strangers, which totally healed me. I left feeling really sad, but equally grateful. What shifted for me was that now I have proof /evidence that this kind of healing/safety is real and possible for me."

"This retreat blew me away! I feel like I was able to reconnect with my inner child and true self; parts of myself that I have not paid attention to in a long time. That was such a gift that brought me joy through play and community. Dez was able to offer a safe place to be vulnerable that allowed connection and healing. I was not expecting how powerful the work we did together would be. I was met with warmth and care. I am so appreciative of this experience, the woman I met, and Dez's expertise."
