A Retreat to north India for yoga, meditation, nature, lakes, and culture. This is a not-to-be-missed adventure traveling to North India to experience its heritage, culture, landscape, and cuisine. Our center is overlooking a lake with the Himalayas in the distance. There are walks around the lake to enjoy and nature is bountiful. You can do as little or as much as you like and other than organising your own flights we will keep in close contact to coordinate the rest. India is a fascinating and inspiring country and really should be experienced at least once in your life.

Location

Katrah Khas, India

Basunti overlooks a lake formed from the damming of the Beas River in the north-west corner of India. It lies in the western edge of Kangra Valley in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh. The nearest towns are Pathankot just over the border in the Punjab and Dharamsala, the administrative centre of Himachal Pradesh. Pathankot, a small provincial city, is served by daily trains from Delhi and other parts of India and is a two hour drive from Basunti. Near Pathankot is another major rail interchange in Chakki Bank which too has a daily overnight trainfrom Delhi. There is also a daily internal air service from Delhi to Dharamshala airport. The transfer to Basunti from Dharamshala airport is about three hours. Amritsar, the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh religion and famous for its Golden Temple, provides the nearest international airport with Air India and Jet Airways flying daily services from London via Delhi. The transfer to Basunti from Amritsar takes approximately three and a half hours by jeep.

Testimonials

info

I had the most amazing experience at Wendy’s retreat twice this year. First for a wonderful bespoke birthday weekend in March with friends and again for a retreat with horse riding in May. Fantastic food, great company with likeminded people and amazing yoga sessions. I will most definitely return again. Thank you Wendy for making me face fears and do a handstand, I have a long way to go but you have to start somewhere. Hopefully see you soon again

I loved the yoga sessions with Wendy, and I would say she is the best teacher I've ever had. Every breakfast was super tasty and I left the retreat feeling refreshed and re-energized. I met some wonderful people and all in all had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this retreat!
