COURSE

Emotional Regulation Using Kinematics

With Alice Langholt

This course focuses on rapidly soothing the nervous system by applying the principles of Kinematics (the study of motion) directly to felt emotional sensations. Instead of abstract breathing, we target the emotion where it lives in the body. The main benefit is gaining an immediate physical control over panic, anxiety, or anger. Lesson 1 teaches the Visceral Freeze-Frame, a technique for isolating and physically shrinking a sensation. Lesson 2 introduces the "Yawn-Gaze" Vagal Stimulus, a rapid, specific physical hack for deep physiological calming.

Lesson 1

The Visceral Freeze-Frame

When emotion strikes and feels like an overwhelming physical knot, take control by isolating it and assigning it specific, manageable attributes. This practice immediately reduces the feeling's perceived size and intensity, turning a large, jagged threat into a small, non-threatening object. Follow along with our guided practice in this lesson.

Lesson 2

The Yawn Gaze Vagal Stimulus

The quickest way to shift out of stress mode is to target the vagus nerve through the throat, jaw, and eyes. By performing a simulated deep yawn while focusing your gaze upward, you prompt an immediate heart rate deceleration. This simple, combined technique is often more effective than breathwork at forcing the body into a state of nervous system calm. Try this simple technique with me during this lesson and experience the shift!
