I Will Save Myself

"I Will Save Myself" came out of a poster I saw with Repunzel cutting off her own hair to climb down the tower with the words "Save Yourself". Girls are taught passivity and helplessness in stories, but real life is full of challenges, and we must accept responsibilities and let go of shame. Victimhood hurts us more over time than any outside abuse. You are powerful. "Bella, give up those helpless ways. And Shauna, rip your bodice yourself. Stealing my own white horse, I will save myself!"
