Prayer To Goddess Ishtar

This is a prayer to goddess Ishtar. She is the Goddess of love, sexuality, fertility, war, creation, guardianship, healing, abundance, fertility and justice. Her name means “Star of Heaven”. The text is very old and comes from the time of the Assyrian empire.

The translation is:

The most outstanding of the goddesses
Ishtar, let me sing of her praise
Ishtar, the greatest one
The most heroic one among the gods
The first-born of Ningal
Let me repeat her strength
