Praying Through The Moon Cycle

With Our Healing Space

In this course, we will consider the energetics of the new, waxing, full, and waning moon phases, and how we can align with these energies in our daily lives. The course comprises 4 lessons, and 4 prayer practices, and is designed to be followed along with the moon cycle, beginning at or around the new moon. In the lessons, we will engage in a combination of breathwork, mantra, meditation, and journalling, to help us set intentions and goals, take actions toward these goals, release what is no longer serving us, and reflect on our actions, before beginning the cycle again. In each prayer practice, we will use prayer to connect with the energy of each moon phase, setting it deep in our hearts and blessing our actions and intentions for each phase. Throughout the course we will use prayer as a way of setting, sealing, and releasing our intentions for each lunation. This course is ideal for anyone curious about using the moon cycle in a practical way or wishing to align their prayer practice with the natural rhythm of the moon.

Lesson 1

New Moon Lesson: Setting Heart-Centred Intentions

The new moon phase is the beginning of the lunar cycle. It is a period of outer darkness during which the moon is not visible in the night sky. This darkness encourages us to turn inward, pause, nourish ourselves with rest, and consider the month ahead. In the new moon phase, we set our intentions, and think about how we want to show up, and what we'd like to achieve in the coming month. In this lesson we will examine the differences between intentions, goals, and aligned actions, and discuss how to set holistic and authentic intentions. With this theory as our foundation, we will use meditation, breathwork, mantra, and journalling to listen to our hearts and set meaningful intentions for this lunar cycle. You will need a journal or notebook for this practice.

Lesson 2

New Moon Prayer Practice

Following on from the first lesson, in this prayer practice we will connect more deeply to the energy of the new moon, and in stillness and gratitude we will pray over our intention setting process to ensure we are setting intentions which truly reflect our heart’s desires and have the greatest possibility to effect lasting transformation in our lives.

Lesson 3

Waxing Moon Lesson: Sealing Intentions, Taking Aligned Action

The waxing moon phase is a time of growing energy, life, and light, when the moon is gradually becoming more visible in the sky. As the light increases, our energy grows, building to a peak which will occur at full moon, the halfway point of the lunar cycle. It is in the waxing phase that we set meaningful goals and take aligned actions to achieve them. In this lesson we will use meditation, breathwork, mantra and journalling to transform our intentions into achievable goals and identify the small steps we can take to achieve them, using our intention as a heart-centred baseline. You will need a journal or notebook for this practice.

Lesson 4

Waxing Moon Prayer Practice

Following on from the waxing moon lesson, in this prayer practice we will connect more deeply to the creative energy of the waxing moon, commit to taking action, and get comfortable moving outside of our comfort zones! We will use prayer as a foundation for ensuring we are taking the right actions at the right time, and taking full advantage of the growing energy of this moon phase.

Lesson 5

Full Moon Lesson: Releasing, Acknowledging, Letting Go

The full moon phase, when the moon is biggest and brightest in the sky, encourages us to reveal our true selves. This can get messy, as emotions run high and things which need to be healed come up to the surface. It’s a time for forgiveness, healing, and release. In this practice we will consider the thorny issue of forgiveness, and use breathwork, mantra and journalling to bring ourselves back into balance. You will need a notebook or journal for this practice. Please note: if you have any trauma in your past you should consult a trained physician. It is outside the remit of this course to provide medical advice.

Lesson 6

Full Moon Prayer Practice

Following on from the full moon lesson, in this prayer practice we will connect more deeply to the healing energy of the full moon, and commit to letting go of all that no longer serves us. We will use prayer to re-balance our emotions, clear out any remaining emotional clutter, and safely move on from the difficult feelings which may have come up for us in this phase.

Lesson 7

Waning Moon Lesson

The waning moon phase is a time of slowing down, reflection, and gratitude where we return to our intention and goals, consider what we have achieved during this moon cycle so far, what is still to manifest, and what missed manifestations we may have experienced. We take time to consider what’s gone right, what’s gone wrong, and what we can learn and take forward into the next lunation. In this practice we will use breathwork and journalling to reflect and offer gratitude for what has passed, and give ourselves space before the cycle begins again at new moon. You will need a notebook or journal for this practice.

Lesson 8

Waning Moon Prayer Practice

Following on from the waning moon lesson, in this prayer practice we will connect more deeply to the restful energy of the waning moon, offer gratitude for all that has passed in this moon cycle, and set our sights on what lies ahead. We will use prayer to honour the process of the pause, to reflect on our actions, and clear space for what’s coming next.
