Welcome to this midsummer solstice nidra journey.
Finding a comfortable supported position traditionally laying on your back.
Take care to support the body.
A blanket under the head and cushion under the knees can be a beautiful gesture of nourishment.
If you're using crystals such as citrine or sunstone,
Carnelian,
Orange,
Calcite,
You can place them on or near your body to infuse them with solstice energy.
The season of midsummer in the Northern Hemisphere,
Our summer solstice is around June 21st.
The season of light as the longest day with the shortest night.
As the sun reaches its zenith,
The sun appears to pause in stillness and also celebrated as International Yoga Day.
So as we settle in,
We now travel the energy bodies known as koshas.
Nidra or Nidra systematically travels these koshas layer by layer to invite a deeper softness,
Allowing the brain to dip into alpha state.
This is the lucid dreamlight state that we are naturally in twice a day once as we drift off to sleep and again as we awake from our slumber Taking a moment here to make any adjustments to come into your most comfortable position.
And this Nidra intentionally stirs emotion to encourage a shift from our usual space of comfort and routine.
It is in discomfort that the space for growth,
Should we choose it,
Is available.
Give yourself permission to allow this practice to be exactly as it's meant to be.
No shoulds,
No judgment.
Each journey may be different.
You may sink deep into the teachings or even fall asleep.
Or you may struggle with thoughts distracting you.
All offer wisdom teachings,
Trusting that you will receive what you are meant to.
Notice where thoughts wander.
The Distraction of Thought Chittavrita The Chatter of the Mind the mind craves purpose,
Guide it back to watching your breath as you remember.
Embody the yogic teachings of Aparigraha,
Releasing all attachment here.
Allowing yourself to be fully in this moment.
Letting go of the physical body.
Letting the mind release,
Surrendering in to receive.
We'll begin by a physical squeeze and release into the body,
Starting with hands,
Squeezing tightly,
Squeezing into the arms,
The feet,
The legs,
The face,
Whole body.
Squeeze every muscle as tight as you can.
Hold that squeeze as you breathe in.
And as you breathe out,
Letting it all release.
Letting yourself relax now.
Arms,
Legs fall open.
Palms now actually turning up in a gesture of receiving.
Or perhaps palms down,
Grounding in.
Notice the rise and fall of your chest.
Rise and fall.
The sacred ancient practice of Yoga Nidra begins.
Allow the ears to hear.
Aware of sounds far away.
Tuning in to the furthest sounds.
Moving to the sounds within the room.
What is it that you can hear?
And moving inward within the body.
Hear your breath move.
Sense the beating of your sacred heart.
Your life force.
This beading at your very core.
And breath travels to the center of the ribcage,
Into the center of your beautiful heart.
And begin to connect back into your truth.
And this is the truth of you that has always been.
It is here to remind you of your wholeness,
Your enoughness,
That you alone are enough.
You were safe,
Secure.
The universe is always working in your favor.
You were valued.
You were loved.
You were healthy.
You were abundant.
You were heard.
You were all of this.
And somewhere along the way we are conditioned into believing that may not be true.
It begins to show up in all areas of our life.
Holding us from our true potential.
Hear your heart valve reminding you.
As we claim Sankalpa,
The I am statement.
San connects with your highest truth.
Kalpa,
The vow.
The heart holds a memory like no other.
The truth of who you are and who you've always been.
Sat Chit Ananda.
The true you.
These two words hold incredible power.
I am.
For what we place after them becomes our truth.
Return to that knowing now by thinking your Sankalpa.
In Trinity.
I am.
I am.
I am.
And traveling the physical layer of Anamaya Kosha.
As you become aware of your body expanding and contracting with beautiful breath.
Aware of your beautiful energy as it begins to gather into your right side body.
The masculine side of yang energy as it pools into the right hand palm.
Feel and sense your right hand.
Bring your awareness to your right hand thumb.
Sense your right hand thumb.
And bring your awareness to the right index finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Pinky finger.
Palm of the right hand.
Feeling the palm of the right hand and the back of hand.
Wrist.
Elbow.
Soldered.
Side rib.
Me.
Ankle.
Top of foot.
And sensing all toes,
One.
Too.
3.
Forward.
Five.
Sole of the foot.
And feel the whole right side of the body from foot to crown.
And crossing the midline as we rest awareness in the left hand.
The feminine side of yin energy as we feel the left hand.
Moving your awareness to your left hand thumb.
Index finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Pinky finger.
Palm of the left hand.
Back of hand,
Wrist.
Elbow.
Shoulder.
Side rib.
Me.
Ankle.
Top of foot and all toes.
One,
Two,
Three.
3.
.
.
4.
.
.
5.
.
.
Saw the foot.
Feel the whole left side of body.
Left side of body.
Now feel the heels of both feet,
Right and left.
Both calves.
Hamstrings.
Into the glutes.
In the lower back.
Middle back.
Upper back.
To the base of the skull.
Back of the head.
Top of head.
Forehead.
Eyebrows right and left.
In between the eyebrows.
Eyes.
Nose.
Lips.
Inside cheeks.
Tongue.
Jawa.
Chin.
Throat.
Center of the chest.
Upper belly.
Low belly.
Base of the torso.
Top of the thighs.
Top of shins.
And both knees.
And now sense the space two feet below you.
2 feet below you.
Soles of the feet.
Base of the torso.
Low belly.
Upper belly.
Heart center.
Throat.
Between the eyebrows.
Top of head.
And two feet above you.
Two feet above you.
And back to the top of head.
Eyebrows.
Throat and center of the chest.
Awareness rests at the center of the chest.
Traveling the breath layer,
Pranamaya Kosha.
As we come back to the breath.
As breath consciously chooses in this moment.
The intelligence of breath as it breathes you.
Connect with the flow filling into the belly.
Chest expanding.
Contracting.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Feeling the movement caused by natural breath.
As chest expands and contracts with breath.
Begin to count the breath backwards starting at 11.
Every inhale and every exhale.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
11.
Inhale and exhale.
Continuing at your own pace.
Nowhere to be.
Just counting backwards down to one.
And releasing now.
And just be.
Nourishing natural breath.
Body continuing to be breathed.
Sense the space of the breath.
And how the body moves with breath.
Become aware of the space around the body.
And how the space surrounding you is being moved by breath.
Aware of the space surrounding the body.
And traveling the emotion layer,
Manomaya Kosha.
Bring your awareness back to the center of the chest.
Staying in the seat of witness.
Completely safe and simply observing.
As we explore opposite sensations.
Beginning with a sense of heaviness.
Sense muscles filled with heaviness.
Like wet sand.
Heavy as lead.
Sinking into the earth.
Heavier.
And heavier.
Each breath out sinks the body deeper into heaviness.
And now with each inhale,
Welcome a sense of lightness.
As the body becomes light.
And lighter.
Light as a feather.
Like a dandelion seed floating in the wind.
Welcome the sense of lightness.
And now everything becomes dark.
The sunset in pending darkness.
The sense of rest,
Dark as night.
The deepest shade of black.
Experience darkness.
And now the promise of sunrise as lightness appears,
This glowing and shimmer of light,
The promise of hope.
As everything becomes this vivid brightness.
This ball of energy,
Experience light.
And sense the body becoming.
Falling into this abyss,
This uncontrolled sense of speeding and approaching the earth is falling.
Descending.
Experience falling.
And now slowing down to floating as the body begins to hover.
Buoyant.
Lightness.
Supported.
Experience floating.
And stay with my voice here as we release into a neutral space,
Arriving at the layer of the wisdom body,
Vijnanamaya Kosha.
His eyes travel the dark expansiveness of the third eye.
The dark canvas behind the eyelids,
The chi to cash,
Trusting in the seat of witness as images and sensations arise and then release,
Moving to the next.
Simply noticing any reaction you may have as we move on to the next.
Sunrise.
Lemon juice on your tongue.
Fresh buttered popcorn.
A gong sounding across the valleys.
The symbol of Aum.
A swimming snake.
Scent of a horse.
Rain on hot pavement.
Bare toes in sand.
Tornado.
Wildfire.
A barking dog.
Salt water.
A sky full of stars.
Climbing steep stairs.
Jumping from a plane.
Dreamy clouds.
A snake's forked tongue.
Heavy rain.
The smell of rosemary.
Cracking an eggshell.
The pillars of ancient Stonehenge.
And looking down,
Seeing your feet bare.
Connecting to the earth your bare feet step along the softest fresh grass.
Each step the blades of grass gently bend to accommodate your movement.
It is still the early morning hours.
It is quiet and serene.
As the darkness of night begins to fade towards the arrival of morning light.
The air is fresh,
Yet warm.
As the morning song of the birds tell their stories.
The grass beneath your step cradles your feet in softness as you walk towards large stones.
Step after step.
Brings you closer.
The stones appear larger.
You notice there are many of them.
In an unusual formation.
Tall pillars of stone.
Towering towards the clouds.
Meticulously arranged in a circle.
With more pillars in the center.
The bird's chirping has grown louder as the sky is growing lighter.
The dawn approaching.
And this is the Mystical Stonehenge.
On the dawn of summer solstice.
As you walk up to the entrance pillar and place your palms upon the cool stone.
There is an electricity in the air.
Energy vibrating through your arms.
And ancestral magic welcomes you.
Just as the sun crests the horizon.
The brilliant beams of sunlight radiate.
Touching your skin.
Warming the electric sensations coursing through you.
And the sun seemingly larger this morning with an incredible presence.
It positions perfectly through the stone pillars as you connect with the majestic timing of being in the space.
There is a knowing within you that this is not by chance.
And your bare feet ground into the earth.
As your hands still connect to the stone.
The brilliant morning sun beaming through the pillars.
This brilliant warm golden light surrounds you.
And body light.
Permeating the whole of you.
Glowing.
Radiating light.
Feeling your powerful essence here as you connect back to your Sankalpa.
Your heart knows.
Step into the truth of who you are.
Claim your Sankalpa here.
I am.
I am.
I am.
Expanding love and compassion.
Curiosity and resilience.
Bare feet standing on the grass.
To connect with the Earth's vibrations.
This wisdom in knowing.
Your questions can be answered here.
What do you wish to know?
And be guided back to your truth.
What is it you wish to know?
Be still and hear the answer.
Open to receive this wisdom.
As we travel the bliss layer and then to Mayakosha.
I'm grateful for the wisdom of this experience.
Your time here coming to a close.
As you return to your physical senses.
Awareness returning to the present moment.
As you are aware of the ground beneath you.
The temperature of breath moving within your body.
And the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
The sounds around you.
Arriving more fully back into your body.
To this time.
The space.
This moment.
Breath deepening as you return.
And taking movement as you wish.
Stretch your body here.
Breathing in possibility.
And releasing doubt.
Breathing in vibrancy.
And releasing stagnancy.
Breathing in belief in yourself.
And releasing all that does not serve you.
We'll guide the body to rest on your left side.
As you roll to rest on your left side,
The energetic feminine side of Yin of receiving,
Nurturing and love.
Honoring this position of rest and nourishment.
And letting your body be heavy as you continue to more fully arrive back into this space.
And integrating any wisdom teachings received during your practice today.
Trusting in your ability to move past old habits and patterns.
Sensing your higher vibration in this moment.
Honoring and grateful for your growth.
Welcoming the vibrant energy of the summer solstice.
Midsummer blessings to you.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
Herium tatsat.
Herium tatsat.
