Welcome,
The day is coming to a close.
This is your time to transition from activity to rest,
From thinking into being,
From doing into allowing.
Let your body settle into a comfortable position.
Feel the support beneath you.
Feel gravity holding you gently.
There is nothing left to accomplish right at this moment.
Now,
Bring awareness to your breath.
Inhale slowly,
And exhale even slower.
Again,
Breathing in calm,
Breathing out tension.
Allow the exhale to be slightly longer than the inhale.
With each breath out,
Imagine the body becoming heavier and more supported.
Notice your forehead softening,
Your eyelids resting,
Your tongue relaxing in the mouth.
Let the shoulders melt downward,
Let the hands rest naturally.
Now,
Imagine the events of today as pages in a book gently closing.
You don't need to re-read them,
You don't need to edit them.
The day has been fulfilled.
Picture those pages softly placing themselves on a shelf.
Nothing is unfinished in this moment.
Now,
Bring your awareness slowly down to the body.
From the top of the head,
To the face,
To the neck,
Down into the chest.
The belly rising and falling into the hips,
The thighs,
The knees,
Down into the calves,
And finally,
The feet.
Allow each area to soften just a little more.
Notice the quiet around you.
Notice the stillness beneath the surface of your thoughts.
You are supported.
You are allowed to rest.
Let your breathing become effortless.
If sleep comes,
Welcome it naturally.
If you remain awake,
Rest in this calm awareness.
Now,
Take one last slow inhale.
And at your own pace,
Gently exhale.
Continue resting here as long as you wish.
