Let's talk energy types.
Energy types are the most basic differentiator in human design.
Your energy type gives you information about how you are designed to use your energy in a way that uplifts rather than drains you.
In human design there are five different energy types.
Generators,
Manifesting generators,
Projectors,
Manifestors and reflectors.
Do not let the names put you off.
They do not sound sexy,
But then again,
Neither does your Myers-Briggs,
Disk,
Enneagram or other personality test profile.
And in my not so humble opinion,
Human design is even more powerful because it is based on your birth details rather than a quiz that can be answered subjectively.
The different energy types in human design do not exist in a vacuum.
People are hardwired for connections,
So all the different energy types are ultimately here to be individually fulfilled with an active purpose in the wider collective.
Let's have a look at how this works in real life.
I have found that different people resonate with different themes.
So depending on your preferences,
I'm giving you two examples to choose from.
Performing a symphony.
Imagine a composer having the inspiration for a piece of music.
They let this impulse move through them,
Transcribe it into notes and scales and thus create a symphony.
This is the energy of a manifestor.
To share their music with the rest of the world,
The composer slash manifestor needs an orchestra and a conductor.
The orchestra is made up of generators and manifesting generators.
Together,
They are the life force of the planet.
They are here to bring things to life,
To add the magic of their individual instruments to the experience of the collective.
In doing so,
They create energy for themselves as well as excess energy for other people to tap into and be inspired by.
As the orchestra starts rehearsing,
The conductor brings together the sheet music and the different instruments to create a performance.
They take the vision of the composer and the talent of the orchestra and craft an impactful event.
This is the role of a projector.
When the symphony is performed for the first time,
There will be a critic sitting in the audience.
Their role is to take everything in and share why they did or did not like the performance.
This critic is a reflector.
Story time.
If you're not musically inclined,
Here's a different analogy for you.
Think of the basic premise of a fairy tale.
In every story,
You have a hero or heroine setting off on a quest.
They discover something about themselves,
Gain riches,
Unlock a secret,
Or break a family curse.
This hero or heroine represents the energy of a manifestor.
They are here to initiate or start something.
They set the arc of the story into motion.
Along the way,
They encounter many different people.
These may be villagers,
Fellow travelers,
Forest dwellers,
Mythical creatures,
Or talking animals.
All these characters add their contribution to the hero or heroine's quest.
At the same time,
They are all heroes and heroines of their own stories,
Which intersect with the story of the main fairy tale character for a short while.
All the characters that people a story are generators and manifesting generators.
They add color,
Action,
And context.
Without them,
The hero or heroine is simply wandering around in a deserted landscape,
And there would be no fairy tale to tell.
At some point,
The main character meets a wise man or woman.
This character is often a little detached from the rest of society.
They may occupy the position of a trusted advisor,
Be the recluse living in the forest,
The grandfather or grandmother,
Or the trickster who disguises wisdom as folly.
They have the ability to see what others miss and give the hero or heroine a nugget of information that propels them closer towards the achievement of their quest.
This is the human design equivalent of a projector.
At the end of a fairy tale,
You often have an objective narrator who ties all the separate parts of the story together by saying,
And the moral of the story is.
This person is the reflector who notices everything and reflects it back to the rest of the people and to us as the reader or listener.
Both these examples are a high level overview of the different human design energy types and how they are made to cooperate collectively.
