Hi there,
Thank you for listening to this audio today and taking a giant step towards a healthier lifestyle in which you maintain control over your impulses and behaviours.
Today we go deeper into your thoughts and harness the power of your imagination to help you resist the need to make impulsive purchases.
Stopping your shopping may feel terrifying at the moment as if you were losing a friend but with the use of this audio track you may get over the feeling and start looking forward to your newfound independence and wealth and I wonder if you can now slowly close your eyes and continue to take four to five slow deep breaths one after the other to start the deep relaxation and the process of letting go within.
Take long and slow deep breaths through your nose as I stay quiet for a few moments.
Now let your body rest peacefully.
You will discover how to control your expenditures so that you may have the greatest possible life.
Now bring all your focus on the air that you're inhaling as you breathe in through your nose and notice how the air feels when you exhale.
Observe how your chest rises and falls as you breathe in and breathe out.
The more you concentrate on your body's rhythm the calmer you feel.
You are more attentive to the sound of my voice as you feel more at ease.
The more you concentrate on the sound of my voice the more comfortable you will be.
With every breath you take and with every word I say you go deeper and deeper into a beautiful state of relaxation.
It's time to let your mind's creative abilities develop and take control enabling you to feel even more at peace and ease.
And I wonder if you could imagine holding a photo album in your hand.
It has photos from each of your impulsive purchases.
Examine the contents of these pages.
Turn the pages gently from the oldest to the newest and notice yourself.
Every time you went shopping for stuff you did not need.
Spending a ton of money you might have been saving.
Money that could have been invested.
Money that might have been used to improve your life.
And time that just went by enacting on an impulse and afterwards feeling guilty,
Unhappy and furious with yourself.
And now is the moment to break free from these desires and start over with improved habits and self-control.
You see the color fading as you keep turning these pages and looking at these pictures.
One by one the colors start to fade and along with them your ability to give into your desires also start to decrease.
The colors are fading so quickly with each passing second that it is difficult to recognize what these photos represent.
The urge to shop is so weak right now that you rarely feel any need to shop.
You become more and more aware of your self-control and your urges with each passing second.
Your ability to resist urges and regain control of your feelings and ideas start to increase.
The pages of the album soon become blank and you begin to feel powerful and strong.
You are strong as the one in charge.
You are aware of your own best interests.
Let that sink in.
I want you to keep your mind open as you listen to this.
Open up your imagination.
Let's look at Rebecca Bloomwood,
A movie character from the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic.
She's someone who enjoys shopping.
She shops so much that she's drowning in debt,
Which is a problem,
Isn't it?
Rebecca aspires to work for the leading fashion publication in the city but she hasn't been successful in getting a job there.
Then she secures a position as a financial magazine's advise columnist for a publication owned by the same corporation.
Her column succeeds instantly but her secret puts her love life and career in a problem.
I want you to imagine Rebecca going shopping.
I want you to imagine the joy she feels when she shops but I also want you to imagine the sadness she feels when she's in huge debts.
Imagine how her happiness is short-lived.
Even while her situation ultimately had a happy ending,
You might not have the same luck.
It makes it crucial to take note of her errors.
I thus want you to have the ability to separate need from desire.
Just one question should be your only consideration when you find yourself being drawn by an item online or in some shopping centre.
And the question is,
Do I truly need this?
And you will discover that you seldom ever do.
Now take a long,
Slow breath in before you let it out and I want you to picture yourself finding something you want to buy.
Visualise the object and how it would feel in your hands.
Spend some time experiencing the feelings that motivate you to buy this thing.
You could experience joy,
Happiness,
Enthusiasm or any number of other emotions.
Feel these emotions and go deeper inside of you,
Into your subconscious mind.
Find the motivating factors that can lead you to buy something that costs more than you can certainly afford.
Whatever it may be,
You could believe that going shopping makes you feel less stressed,
Makes you feel like you're escaping or makes you feel in control.
Try to figure out why you acquire items that prevent you from being financially secure.
And now I want you to imagine yourself 10,
20 or even 30 years in the future.
Think about how your life will be if you continue to spend this way.
Will you be able to buy the items for the rest of your life that will actually make you happy?
Billions of dollars are spent on advertising by producers and merchants.
Why?
Because it is effective.
We are readily persuaded to give in to the temptation to buy as a result of the commercial's hidden message,
Which is,
This item will make your life better.
Now consider how you are a victim of these commercials.
Now once more,
Visualize your original self,
A cheerful,
Healthy and smart spender.
Your financial situation is under your control.
Imagine the joy this brings to your mature self.
Your mature self may feel pleased because you have lived your life with financial success.
You feel proud because you took charge.
And from today on,
You are a wise shopper.
You only purchase items when you have the funds in your bank account to do so.
Your spending is within your control.
You are aware that having control over your finances is ultimately important for living a life that is genuinely fulfilling and successful.
You are in charge of your life and you won't allow impulsivity rule you.
It is time to get up and start living a better life.
I am now going to count down from five down to zero.
With each countdown,
These suggestions will go deeper in your subconscious mind.
So five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One and zero,
Embedded into your subconscious mind.
I am now going to leave you here for a few moments so that you enjoy this beautiful state of relaxation.
I am now going to count you up from one to five and at five you will be fully awake,
Feeling great about yourself.
So start coming up with one,
Higher up with two,
Further up with three,
All your mental,
Emotional,
Physical and spiritual bodies aligned at four,
At five,
Eyes open,
Wide awake.
