Meet your Teacher

Michael Mackintosh has been practicing meditation for nearly 30 years, beginning at 18 when a single session led to a profound and unexpected spiritual awakening that transformed the course of his life. Since then he has studied extensively with spiritual masters across multiple traditions and has guided thousands of students in meditation, consciousness, and inner freedom. Michael teaches from direct experience rather than theory. His approach is practical, accessible, and rooted in the understanding that genuine spiritual freedom is not reserved for monks or mystics — it is available to anyone willing to explore it. He has spent decades distilling these experiences into simple practices that work for both complete beginners and long-term meditators alike. He lives in Sedona, Arizona.

Lesson 1

There Is A Home Beyond This World — And You Can Go There

You Are the Avatar — Master Of Two Worlds

Have you ever stepped away from a stressful situation, taken a breath, and come back feeling like you could finally handle it? That simple experience points to something much deeper — and in this session, we explore exactly what it means. In this session Michael Mackintosh introduces one of the most powerful ideas at the heart of the Freedom Method: that we are not here to escape life, but to master it from a higher place. Like an avatar — a being who travels beyond and returns with wisdom, love, and fresh energy — we can learn to move between worlds consciously, bringing peace back with us every time. You will discover the four levels of this practice: knowledge, awareness, experience, and embodiment — and understand why most people stay at the first level, and how to go deeper. Michael shares the moment he sat with a flickering candle, finally let go, and glimpsed eternity with his eyes open. Time stopped. Everything was still. And he came back completely free. The Magic Breath — Your Portal To Freedom

You are always breathing. What if every breath could be a doorway to infinite peace? In this session Michael Mackintosh shares one of the most practical and beautiful tools in the Freedom Method — the freedom breath. Breathing in, you rise into the golden light. Breathing out, you return, carrying that peace through your whole being. Simple, portable, and endlessly powerful. This means you do not need a meditation cushion, a quiet room, or a spare hour. You can practice going beyond and coming back at your desk, on a walk, between meetings, or lying in bed at night. Thousands of times a day if you wish — and the more you do, the lighter you feel. The Deep Freedom Meditation — A Full Journey Beyond The World And Back

This is the heart of the Freedom Method — a deep, unhurried guided journey into the infinite light and home again. In this session there are no concepts to learn and nothing to figure out. You are simply invited to let go — of your body, your thoughts, your worries, your sense of time — and allow yourself to travel beyond the physical world into the vast, golden stillness that has always been your true home. Michael Mackintosh guides you gently upward through the sky, past the earth, through the solar system and the stars, all the way to the edge of the universe and beyond — into a dimension of infinite peace where nothing is missing, nothing needs to change, and you are completely, deeply safe. You will rest there. You will feel what it is to be fully free. And then, carrying all that light and stillness with you, you will return — back into your body, your life, your day — as an avatar who has touched eternity. This meditation can be returned to again and again. Each time you will go a little deeper. Each time you will bring a little more of that freedom back with you.

Jivan Mukti — Living Free While Fully Alive

Freedom is not a feeling reserved for the meditation cushion. It is a way of life — and this final session shows you exactly how to live it. In this session, Michael Mackintosh introduces the ancient Sanskrit concept of Jivan Mukti — freedom whilst alive. Not freedom from life, but freedom within it. The ability to move through your days with lightness, gratitude, and an unshakeable sense of peace, no matter what is happening around you. You will learn how to carry the Freedom Method into your mornings, your work, your relationships, and even your sleep. How a simple thought upon waking can transform your entire day. How to use challenges as gifts rather than burdens. How to hold any problem from a billion-light-year perspective — and feel it gently soften. This is the session where the practice becomes a life. Where going beyond and coming back is no longer something you do — it is simply who you are. This was amazing and beautiful, exactly what my soul needed to experience at this point in my human journey. I come from a Christian background, and found your words resonate so deeply with my own experiences and understanding of Scripture (especially the teachings and words of Jesus). The phrases you used may be different but point to the same Eternal Truth. I appreciate that you don’t promote a specific religion, and also don’t discount those of us who practice a religion while here on this earth. While I do not worship my religion I have found it offers a way of cultivating and awakening to the Divine, Eternal Love and Power that is above all and holds us all together as one. I am probably not explaining my thoughts very well here…..but pray you hear my heart beneath these faltering words. One of my favorite Scriptures found in the sacred text of the Bible is this: “It is for freedom that you have been set free, do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1). Your teaching here just expanded and enriched my understanding and experience of those words in such a profound way! I also appreciate that you take the time to create longer meditations. I truly feel the benefit of them, and afterwards it seems easier to find my way back to the “holy place” more quickly as I go through my daily activities and challenges of life. Thank-you!
