The Harmonious Connection: Enhancing Meditation Through Music

With Gordon Ringler

This course will discuss the role of music in meditation with a review of your understanding of what meditation is. We'll begin with an overview of the nine most common types of meditation forms. It will review research about meditation, music, and their relationship. We'll take a deep dive into the different types of meditation music and the most common and traditional musical instruments for meditation. The course will discuss the impact of the digital age on music and will listen to examples of ambient music, nature sounds, chanting, mantras, and the "classics". An entire lesson will be spent covering frequency-based sound therapy (binaural beats and solfeggio). Finally, we will be putting it all together with a review types of meditation & music that go with it. We'll then discuss common therapeutic areas of need and match meditation practice and music to them for the maximum benefit. Participants will leave with enhanced meditation techniques, personalized music & practice matchings for personal objectives, and a deeper understanding of self-awareness and emotional healing.
