The Binge Eating Recovery Journey

With Bea Lecours

For the AuDHD and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), binge eating isn’t a lack of willpower—it is a brilliant, instinctive attempt to regulate a nervous system that feels "too much." In this 10-day journey, we move away from the shame of "diet culture" and toward a deep understanding of our sensory needs. Through the lens of neurodivergence and radical compassion, you will learn why food became your only refuge from a loud, judgmental world. We will explore how to stop being an "emotional sponge," how to manage dopamine searches, and how to reclaim your body as a safe, sovereign territory. No "homework," no "fixing"—just a return to the peace you are worthy of.

Meet your Teacher

Beatriz is an accredited behavioral science specialist and therapist who specializes in the intersection of neurodivergent wellness, sensory processing, and nervous system regulation. With an academic background in Psychology from the University of Maine at Presque Isle, her approach to healing disordered eating is grounded in the mechanics of biological safety and human behavior. Having personally navigated the challenges of severe binge eating as an AuDHD individual in high-stress environments, Beatriz translates complex neuroscience into practical, low-demand tools for sensory sovereignty. Her work focuses on deconstructing the "shame-cycle" of bingeing by addressing its root: an overwhelmed nervous system seeking an emergency brake. By prioritizing the unique physiological needs of the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), Beatriz provides a science-backed sanctuary for those ready to move out of survival mode and into a state of embodied peace. She specializes in helping individuals stop "absorbing" environmental stress and start reclaiming their bodies as safe, regulated territories.

Lesson 1

The Midnight Escape & The Sensory Shield

We begin by uncovering the "Why" behind the midnight kitchen visits. I share my personal struggle with isolation and the intense cultural pressure of living in Caracas. You will learn to identify binge eating not as a failure, but as a "Sensory Shield" designed to protect your sensitive soul from a world that feels too loud.

Lesson 2

The Invisible Gaze & The Pajama Freedom

We explore the "Invisible Gaze"—the heavy feeling of being constantly watched and judged. I share how moving to a city where I could walk in my pajamas without being noticed began my healing, and I’ll teach you how to build that same internal safety, no matter where you live. When you hide, you are thinking that there is something "wrong" with you that the world "shouldn't see", instead, when you claim your Right to be Private, you are deciding that your body and your energy are sacred, and not for public consumption.

Lesson 3

Muffling The Narcissistic Noise & The Power Of Protein

In this lesson, we address the "Voices of Judgment"—those specific, critical remarks from past partners or friends that trigger the urge to hide. We explore the vital difference between sensory-seeking eating (needing dopamine) and shame-based binging (trying to disappear) while feeling "Crazy". You will learn how to use simple, effortless protein as a "Solid Floor" to ground your nervous system and quiet external noise.

Lesson 4

The Sensory Safe Haven & Micro-Pleasures

We explore how to organize your physical environment to support your peace. You will learn the importance and beauty of "Sensory Feeding"—incorporating simple, non-food pleasures like sunlight or a hot shower—to provide your brain with the dopamine it craves while lessening the shame of binge eating, since having a binge tends to block the enjoyment and pleasure of food due to shame.

Lesson 5

The Executive Function Gap & The One-Minute Rule

We explore "Sensory Flooding"—the overwhelm that happens when daily tasks pile up. You will learn why a messy environment may trigger a binge and how to use the "One-Minute Rule" to lower the pressure on your brain without causing so much overwhelm or burnout.

Lesson 6

The Social Battery & The Energy Audit

We explore the cost of "Masking" and how social interaction can lead to sensory flooding. You will learn to recognize when your "Social Battery" is depleted and how to pause and use one tool before just eating right away as an emergency recharge after being around people, while reminding you to try and avoid shaming yourself when you do eat.

Lesson 7

The Compassionate Reset (Breaking The Shame Spiral)

We tackle the "Day After" a binge. You will learn why the "All-or-Nothing" mindset is your biggest enemy and how to perform a "Fast Reset" using compassion rather than punishment. We emphasize that recovery is a spiral, not a straight line.

Lesson 8

The Inner Child & The Sensory Safe Haven

We meet the part of you that still feels like a vulnerable teenager in the dark. You will learn to identify the "Younger Self" who uses binge eating for safety and how to provide that part of you with a "Sensory Safe Haven" instead of a lecture or self-shame.

Lesson 9

The Language Of The Body

In this session, we learn to translate the subtle signals of the body to understand whether an urge is rooted in "Heart-Hunger" or "Nervous-System-Hunger," or both at once. We explore the difference between emotional eating—a search for a "hug"—and binge eating—a search for a "mute button" to ground a flooded nervous system. By naming these needs in the moment, you can begin to break the "Out of Control" feeling and move from self-criticism to deep, sovereign listening.

Lesson 10

The Sovereign Path: Living In Your Own Light

In our final session, we explore the power of becoming grounded and connected within your body chemistry. We discuss how certain ingredients can trigger "addictive" feelings in sensitive brains and how to notice these reactions without shame. This is not about new rules or restrictions, but about developing the awareness to choose what truly makes you feel stable. Learn to navigate your dopamine needs and work with non-restrictive support to build a life of true food sovereignty.
