This is a 10 day developmental program of bite size daily contemplative meditations. The course guides us to reach for the essence of carefully considered keywords that build progressively in meaning over the duration. The feeling of the keyword and its emotional and spirit signature is emphasized rather than an intellectualized interpretation. Over the time you're encouraged and guided to journal regularly and spend time in introspection. The overall aim of the progam is to give us a tool to move resonantly to the coveted state and quality of Joy, known as Ananda in the Yoga system. This is no superficial version of happiness, but one grown from starting to live from spiritual principles in our lives.


Meet your Teacher

Paul Carlos is the founding director of Sacred Spiral Yoga school. He has taught for many years including Yoga, Qi Gong, traditional meditation. Paul has an active interest in wisdom traditions and Eastern philosophy. A classical guitarist and composer/performer Paul has a strong interest in sacred music

Lesson 1

Centre

On this first day I introduce the program briefly and best practices to get the most benefit. Further I offer our first keyword. The module sets us up for the rest of the material with a bite-size contemplative meditation focus. Taken early morning, the session sets the tone for the day ahead. The program is cumulative, so the 10 short meditations build over the time into a meaningful, transformative whole.

Lesson 2

Cleanse

Day 2 builds upon the previous session with the necessity to 'cleanse'. As we all know, an untidy house is unpleasant and unconducive to harmony, balance and happiness. Similarly, we all need to undertake regular inner house keeping. Sweeping out old patterns and emotions that no longer serve us, is essential lest we become bogged down with a lot of heavy baggage. To move forwards highly effectively, 'cleanse' is a vital puzzle piece at this stage.

Lesson 3

Forgive

Day 3 takes us into the vital topic of forgiveness. Many folk struggle somewhat with this concept. The material offers a less common perspective and method of agency with this all important aspect that can keep us stuck for long periods of time.

Lesson 4

Appreciation

This module looks at the need for and how to create and hold a baseline vibration and frequency that is overall positive and optimistic. Without this well established as a habit, it can become more difficult to navigate the difficult times in life. Appreciation and Gratitude are well known states that when groomed, can offer us a superb baseline vibrational state.

Lesson 5

Calm

This module moves us further into the realm of the heart to take us into the truly transformative state of inner calm. Without the heart as the foundation for our spirit, we never have the universal organizing principle underpinning our lives. This is the reason why so many folk struggle with meaning and true purpose as they are governed and motivated by material and social drivers.

Lesson 6

Strength

Rather than the physical variety of strength, this session takes its focus on the characteristics of inner strength. Outer shows of power and dominion often belie a poorly developed spirit. Spiritual attributes include qualities such as kindness and empathy, but also those of perserverance, inclusivity and wisdom, to name but a few. The module continues building on the previous sessions and emphasizes learning to operate from the heart and non-linear intuition .

Lesson 7

Peace

This module looks into some of the underlying drivers of more authentic and lasting peace. How do we begin aligning peace in our lives via the technique of resonance. Why the method of cause and effect cannot achieve true and lasting peace.

Lesson 8

Fulfillment

To gain a true sense of deep fulfillment on a soul level, we need to begin basing our lives on spiritual principles. This module looks into how we can establish the foundation for this. Learning how to quieten the mind and begin listening for the still, small voice of our heart is key. The material sets the stage for attaining the coveted spiritual quality of pure joy known as Ananda.

Lesson 9

Abundance

Once we begin to see a bigger perspective on our lives and situation, we begin to see many more options that were not visible previously. As we quieten the monkey mind, the silent voice of the heart begins to be heard and we have an opportunity to begin cultivating wisdom. Without wisdom, it is not really possible to find true equanimity since we are so often motivated by intentions that may not lead to the higher spiritual qualities such as compassion, kindness and others. The reason we need to become kind for example, is to promote unity not separation. The module further leads us to consider these and other spiritually based qualities.

Lesson 10

Joy

The true joy of ananda, is a state of resonance that permeates our being at every level - in spirit, emotionally, mentally and physically. This final session aims to tie up the material and invite us to turn our intent and action towards aligning this beautiful state of consciousness that makes life somehow much easier to deal with. True joy that is not dependent on other people or circumstances, embodies all of the previous keyword qualities and is a truly worthy aspiration for our spirit and energy.
