Sharing practices from India, China and my own learning as a self-taught sound healer for the past 30 years, I'll introduce you to the concepts of sound healing, and practices you can do to start your own sound healing journey! Although it's not rocket science, 'real' sound healing does require an understanding of the fundamental principles underlying vibration and the human bodymind. This course and its sister course, 'Sound Healing 201: How to use sound vibration to help the body heal' are designed for the student who doesn't have the time and money to attend a whole weekend-long or longer course. Instead, learn the concepts and practices organically and slowly, and incorporate them into your body and awareness! There are two segments in Sound Healing 101; in Segment One you'll learn about: The nature and power of vibration How to use entrainment wisely, and The geometry of sound The second segment of Sound Healing 101 introduces you to three sound healing practices: Nada Yoga and Mantra from India, and 6 Healing sounds of Qigong from China. After this overview of ancient meditation, vocal sound and movement practices, you'll get an idea of what resonates with you, and which practice you'll want to pursue. Soundhealing 101 is a prerequisite course before you hop into Soundhealing 201, where you'll learn about various soundhealing instruments and how to play them skillfully: a 'sound knowledge' of the principles will supercharge your soundhealing practice! After attending both classes, you'll understand how to apply skillfully the principles of soundhealing in a way that really engages with the bodyminds of your clients and yourself.
