Class 7 — Peace Is Not Narrating
With Meredith Hooke
In our final session, we turn to the “narrating mind,” the constant commentary running in the background of our lives. This inner voice may seem harmless, but it filters every experience, keeping us slightly removed from the direct simplicity of the present moment. Narration often acts as the “gateway” to other habits we’ve explored — chasing, resisting, judging, and comparing — by pulling us back into thought rather than being here and now. With the mantra Peace Is Not Narrating, you’ll learn how to recognize this subtle habit and quiet the commentary, opening the way to a more direct, unfiltered experience of life. We’ll also reflect on how to carry the mantras forward in your daily practice, so you can continue uncovering the peace that is always here. Each class begins with a 30–45 minute talk, followed by a 20-minute guided meditation and plenty of time for questions and answers, so you leave with a thorough understanding of both the topic and the practice.
