Amharic is one of the most ancient existing languages of our planet. At the birth of what now call "Christianity" Amharic Scribes wrote poetic and dynamic verse detailing the many wonders of God's grace and glory. I decided to learn the Lord's Prayer as those Amharic Scribes wrote it hundreds of years ago, and share it with you, beloved listener. A beautifully written and recited work of spirit. Please, enjoy this version with music composed by Khalfani Now, listen along and recite as-well!

Oh,

Eternal spirit.

Earth maker.

Pain bearer.

Life giver.

Source of all that is and that shall be.

Father and mother of us all.

Loving God.

The howling of your name echoes throughout the universe.

The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world.

Your heavenly will be your commonwealth of peace and freedom.

Sustain our hope and come on to the earth.

With the bread we need for today,

Feed us.

In the hurts we absorb from one another,

Forgive us.

In times of temptation and test,

Strengthen us.

From trial too great to endure,

Spare us.

From the grip of all that is evil,

Free us.

For your reign in the glory and for this,

Mother,

Father,

God,

I thank you.
