There are seven homecomings.
The seven homecomings can be practiced formally or informally,
Individually or with a group.
Often I evoke my homecomings as I move through the world.
And now,
Just now,
We will focus on the seventh homecoming.
And the seventh homecoming is yourself.
So I'd like to invite you now to find a comfortable posture.
For some that is sitting with their back erect and for some that may be lying and for some that may be walking,
Whatever position or movement you prefer just now,
Find it.
I'd like to invite you to soften your gaze.
Soften the muscles in your forehead.
Soften the muscles in your cheeks.
Soften the muscles around your lips.
Soften the muscles in your shoulders.
Let's inhale very deeply.
A rich expanding inhale.
And exhale with a sigh.
And let's begin by reflecting on your experiences of your mind and body.
Consider how your experiences are valuable,
Important and crucial.
Invite all the parts of yourself into your awareness,
Including the parts of yourself that seem too ugly or overwhelming.
Embracing yourself as a homecoming means you make sure that you are showing up to begin.
Embracing yourself as a homecoming means you make sure that you are showing up to being held by the other homecomings.
Allow yourself to be present.
Accept that you are present.
Say welcome to yourself.
Inhale and exhale with a sigh.
And come home to yourself.
I am California now.
