There are seven homecomings.
And these seven homecomings can be practiced formally or informally,
Individually or with a group.
Often I evoke my homecomings as I move through the world.
Sometimes I need certain kinds of support and find myself evoking some homecomings over others.
For example,
Sometimes I need to experience connection to my ancestors more than my guides.
Or I need to feel the earth more than my wisdom text.
Other times I need all the homecomings.
Right now we're going to focus on the second homecoming,
Which is the homecoming for your wisdom texts.
I'll invite you now to find a securing and comfortable space where you may sit or lie,
But find a posture that supports you.
I'll ask you to now,
When it feels right,
To soften your gaze.
Feel that relaxing and the loosening in the eyelids.
I'll invite you now to take a deep expansive breath and exhale with a sigh.
And as you reach that sigh,
Ask you to loosen the tension in your neck and relate and feel a releasing of tension throughout your shoulders.
Now I'll invite you to begin reflecting on any text that has helped you to deepen your wisdom.
These texts can include any writing,
Book,
Teaching,
Sacred scriptures,
Quotes,
Social media,
Any form of artistic expression like music,
Dance,
Visual art,
Etc.
Any texts that have helped you to experience clarity,
Openness,
Love,
And compassion are your sacred texts.
I'll invite you to bring now their essence,
The essence of these texts into this space.
You can imagine that these texts are actually present or you can have a sense that their essence is encircling you with your guides.
Say welcome to your texts.
Relax.
And now inhale deeply,
Softly.
Inhale and come home to being held by your wisdom texts.
