When we start paying attention to the phases of the moon, we quickly tap into the different energies that are present in the quiet, thoughtful New Moon, the intense Full Moon, and the more balanced Waxing and Waning half moons. Our yoga practice can support that kind of paying attention, especially within our own bodies and in our inner worlds. These four yoga classes are all Yin/Flow style classes, incorporating some long-held Yin and Restorative postures balanced with more dynamic flowing movements to build strength and mobility. Each one is designed to fit with the energy of the moon in its phase. I recommend beginning on or around a New Moon (within three days is ideal) and practising each week for four weeks, which will take you through an entire moon cycle. Classes are designed for all levels with options for everyone, so please listen to your body. We do use props in this class, which could be yoga bricks and bolsters, but you can also use pillows and whatever else you have at home. Ensure you talk to your doctor or health practitioner before starting any new form of exercise if you have any concerns.
