Welcome back.
Close your eyes and take a few moments to relax.
Allow your breath to become slow,
Soft and effortless.
Scan over your whole body for any zones of tension or tightness.
And focus on allowing them to become soft and light,
As light as a golden feather.
Allow yourself to become connected once more to the universal ebb and flow.
You are no longer small,
You are all.
You are the universe itself.
Allow yourself to be free.
Free once more to dance and fly and float and sing as an integral part of space and time.
The word Guru means guiding light or spiritual teacher.
The syllable Gu means darkness.
The syllable Ru,
He or she who dispels them.
Because of the power to dispel darkness,
The Guru is thus named.
The Guru is seen as the one who dispels the darkness of ignorance.
But let us take this a step further.
Yes Guru means one who shows others the way from the darkness to the light.
But let us remember that light contains dark within it,
And it is from the darkness that the impulse of light comes.
Just as life lies latent in death,
And death is in fact part of the continuous ebb and flow of life itself.
Life in death.
The latent energy waiting for the impetus of rebirth.
Death in life.
Change.
Creation.
Comprehension.
And acceptance of the design.
The complex cycle of learning through change.
Of growth through action.
Suffering.
Experience.
And then freedom.
The Guru sheds light,
But the path is yours.
The Guru opens the eyes,
But the vision is yours.
The Guru offers the impetus for growth,
But it is you who grows.
So what if you are the Guru?
What if the guiding light is you?
What if the spiritual teacher is you?
What qualities would you say were necessary for you to fulfill the role of Guru in your own life?
What would it mean for you to be the Guru?
Strength.
Strength of mind.
Strength over the mind.
Energy.
Connection.
The power to control one's own thoughts.
The power to strike when needed,
But from a place of peace,
Of harmony,
Of light.
As you breathe,
As you be here in this moment,
Imagine yourself as being in complete control of your thoughts,
As the master of your mind.
A Guru is not one with magical powers.
A Guru is one who simply sheds light on the paths of others.
When we shed light on the path of another,
The universal cycle of cause and effect makes it so that light will in turn shine down on our own path.
If you are the Guru,
Then simply by using your vulnerability,
Your authenticity,
Your truth to help another will in turn produce goodness in your own life.
Expansion in your own life.
We do not help others so that we will receive help,
But it is a beautifully harmonious result that naturally occurs through our small or great effort.
This is,
My friend,
What is called the Dharma way.
The Dharma way is to continuously try to shed light on the paths of others.
To be an example,
Not through words,
But through actions,
Choices,
Decisions,
Honour,
Nobility.
But we can only do this when we come from a place of honesty,
True honesty,
Vulnerability,
A place of no ego.
Imagine yourself as effortlessly residing in this state,
In the state of a bodhisattva,
One who gives their life for others.
Imagine yourself as a being of good deed,
A light bringer,
An awakener.
Because good deed is the impetus for expansion,
And expansion is the only form that abundance,
Fulfilment and plenty can take in this age of Aquarius.
It is the only way.
It is the right way.
A sage once spoke of the Guru's gem.
He said,
From the darkness to the light,
From the storm to the calm,
Pigmented sulphur to seasons gold,
Equation to oars bright myth,
Glassy eyes close and the mind's eye gently opens and in that moment softly does the rising sun as it breaks horizon's edge tearing black from blue and colours fill every artery and vein.
Every crevice and cave where darkness once slept,
Goodness now ushers in.
There is no place for the darkness,
Though it is always there.
But the process that paints the picture of this wild hood's day is not set in stone.
It is as flexible as the senses.
As tamed as the seas and always cupped by nature's fertile hand.
Now go,
Go and drift through the gentle expansion of the universe.
And when you are done,
Remember to offer gratitude for the sacred space it has held for your dream.
