Timelines
by HINDZ
A discussion for those of us who may have been racing with life. For those who question why life hasn't happened for them yet. Let's take a moment to understand time and the discovery of our personal journeys and timelines.

Hmm.
Yeah,
That's good.
This is your morning cup of tea in hindsight.
Yeah.
I have a few questions for you.
Do you ever wonder when the right time is?
Have you ever questioned when it's going to be your time?
Do you compare your timelines to the timelines of others around you?
Hello friends.
Today,
I want to take a moment to explore within ourselves the restrictions and the limitations we place on ourselves when it comes to time,
When it comes to expectations and see if we can loosen the grip we have on ourselves out of love.
Now,
A lot of us have not a lot of us,
All of us have desires placed into our heart and deep passions,
Things we're trying to manifest,
Things we're trying to bring into our life.
Let it be a goal.
Let it be a career goal.
Let it be a relationship.
We always have a vision of when this is going to happen.
A lot of us at 18 years old,
We said,
By the time I'm 27,
I'm going to be married,
One child on the way,
Dream job flourishing.
We have the whole picture set out for ourselves.
By the time we maybe get to 25,
26,
What happens?
We start to have anxiety.
We start to feel like we're a failure.
We start to feel bad about ourselves because we haven't attained everything that we said we're going to and time is running out.
We look around and we see other people living the dream that we painted for ourselves.
Oh yeah,
This friend over here has a relationship and she's getting married.
Oh,
My buddy over here is traveling the world,
Living his dream.
Where did it go wrong?
Where did we go wrong?
Okay,
Now let me take you back a little bit and let's understand what time actually is because I truly believe that we are timeless.
Now we all experience time very differently.
You understand?
Some of us at 10 years old were taking care of our brothers and sisters and like,
You know,
We had a lot more responsibilities.
We had a different kind of household that shaped us by the time we're 18 or 19,
We're a lot more mature than,
You know,
The average young adult.
Now others may be eight,
Nine,
10 years old.
You were allowed just to be a child in your childlike spirit to express yourself and just,
You know,
To be pampered and to be babied.
And by the time you're 18 or 19 years,
You're kind of like a big kid.
Now we have two people,
Same age,
But completely different experiences,
Right?
They've experienced time a lot different,
But society and our environments see these two individuals as the same person by a number,
But age is simply a number in this situation.
We are looking at the character,
We are looking at the soul that these individuals have in turns thus far.
Let me tell you about one of my favorite dishes.
It's Jamaica's national dish,
I believe,
Um,
Aki and saltfish.
Now Aki grows on a tree.
It's a fruit,
But when you cook it,
It actually looks like scrambled eggs.
It's amazing.
You put some peppers in there,
Some tomatoes,
Onions,
Scotch bonnet,
Pepper,
You know,
Some thyme.
It's truly an amazing dish.
If you ever have the opportunity,
Go to a Jamaican restaurant and ask for Aki.
Actually,
I always get like the vegan version,
So I don't get the saltfish anymore.
I just get the Aki with some plantains,
Rice and beans.
It's divine.
But I remember the first time I went to Jamaica when I was a teenager with my father and we had an Aki tree in the backyard and he's like,
Come,
Come,
Come,
Come,
We're going to go pick some Aki.
And I was like,
Oh,
I've always just had it in a can.
Okay,
Cool.
So we go pick the Aki and he starts to pick some Aki and I go to grab one.
He's like,
No,
Not that one.
And I'm like,
Why?
He's like,
That one's not ready yet.
I'm like,
Can we still pick it?
He said,
No,
No,
No,
You could die.
And I was like,
Hold up.
What do you mean you could die?
I thought,
I thought Aki was like good.
I thought this was a plant.
I thought this was a nutritious.
Now the Aki tree,
The fruit that grows off the Aki tree,
If you pick it at the wrong time,
It is very toxic.
I'm talking about the span of just a couple of days.
If you pick it at the wrong time,
It could be very toxic for you.
Now I want you to think about something that you've been waiting for in life,
Something that's been on your heart and you've been questioning,
Why am I not there yet?
Why do I not have this in my life?
This may be something that you've literally beat yourself up over.
Maybe it's the fact that you're not in a relationship.
Maybe it's the fact that you don't have the money that you want yet.
Maybe it's the fact that you just don't have the career that you want yet.
Whatever it is,
Think about that right now.
Now I want you to think about the Aki tree and Aki fruit and how divine that dish was.
Just like your vision,
Just like your dream here,
Just like the thing that you want,
How divine it is,
How amazing it would be to have.
But what if you got it at the wrong time?
What if you want a relationship so bad and you want to be married?
And what if you step into a relationship too quick and it's full of toxicity,
You know,
Just like the Aki,
If you pick it too quick.
What if you step into this relationship too soon and you bring on new traumas and pain into your life just to reflect back to yourself that,
Oh man,
I have a lot more work to do.
Now it doesn't mean that you're not worthy of love.
It doesn't mean that there's not a great love out there waiting for you,
An amazing partner out there,
A companion.
It just means right now it's not the time.
Even though you may have a timeline in your mind,
That may not be the right time.
Now maybe you're like,
Heinz,
I don't care about love.
Well,
Let me say maybe you're wondering why you haven't got the recognition you're looking for yet.
Your followers are low.
You know,
You have this gift,
You have this artistry about you,
You have this craftsmanship about you and you're like,
I want my recognition.
Where is my recognition?
By the time you were going to be 28,
You said you were going to be a millionaire and hundreds of thousands of people would know you and that hasn't happened yet and you feel stressed.
You have anxiety.
You're beating yourself up again.
Do you understand that sometimes it takes a little bit longer because I believe God,
The universe is building us up on a soul level,
On a spiritual level,
Creating a stronger foundation within ourselves.
When we do attain this recognition,
When we do attain this love,
We are ready.
Imagine receiving all the gifts of the world.
Imagine receiving hundreds of thousands of people paying attention to you and you have a lack of self love.
You're not in the best of place.
You fold under that pressure.
How would that feel?
Right?
So you see,
We create these timelines in our mind,
But these timelines are manmade.
They're womanmade.
Right?
They're not made by spirit.
And when we go back to those two individuals in the beginning,
One that had a childhood full of responsibility and the other that had the opposite,
We see that two people experience life completely different by the same age.
Now when we look around us and we compare ourselves to everybody else,
But we do not know their story,
We do not know their upbringing.
And even if we do,
We were not dealt the same deck of cards as them,
Were we?
They may have privileges that we don't have.
We may have privileges that they don't have.
You see,
We all experience time completely different and we're all dealt a different deck of cards.
So if you're basing your life on the projections of society and your environment of what you should have by a certain time,
You're always going to find yourself falling into a slight depression or a deep dark depression.
You need to understand that maybe the thing that you want so dearly,
It's not a factor of why don't I have it yet,
But more so I'm on my way to getting it.
But on my way there,
I'm building myself up.
I'm becoming my best version of self.
I am weathering these storms,
Building a foundation within myself mentally,
Emotionally,
Spiritually.
So when I do meet the love of my life,
I can offer them my best.
Or when I do step into that dream job,
That dream goal,
That dream career,
I am ready.
I am confident.
I am in line in divine timing.
Because you see,
Sometimes we rush into situations because we're afraid and we're trying to be on time with our timelines and we rush into toxic relationships disregarding the red alarms.
We rush into bad business deals because we want the money so bad.
But if we remove this whole time thing and just be like,
Hey,
I am on a journey.
I am in a process.
And even though my parents,
Even though my friends,
Even though society may stress me that I'm supposed to have something by a certain amount of time,
I tell myself,
We tell ourselves all that is for me is happening in divine time.
And if I don't have it yet,
It doesn't mean it's not ours.
It doesn't mean it's not mine.
It just means right now in this time,
It's not the right time.
It could be too early where it would end up being toxic for us.
But when we allow life to ripen our gifts,
We receive them as the blessings they are.
So you don't know in hindsight everything,
Go and be all right.
It's a vibe thing.
Thank you for tuning in with me.
I hope you enjoyed yourself this morning.

This helped me a lot. I create timelines in my head even though I know they’re irrational. I will listen to this again. :)

Loved this talk. So relatable to me and my upbringing. Ackie and salt fish, what a beautiful dish, but be careful you don’t pick it too soon as it will be toxic. Lovey analogy Can’t wait to hear more. Sending joy and peace to you 💕 JB

That was fantastic!!! I specially enjoyed the references to Jamaica. I’ve had Ackee before, it’s an acquired taste, but it makes so much sense when we think it with respect to our timelines. Thank you thank you for sharing with such wisdom. I just wished I knew how to stop the flow of the -ve thoughts 🙏🏽
