Hello,
Thank you for joining me for our morning meditation.
Today's topic,
Don't give up.
This meditation was created for all of us that have been working hard for a year with no end in sight.
Maybe the side gig or part time job isn't panning out as lucrative as you thought.
Maybe you're ready to quit school or quit a job.
Maybe an old addiction keeps rearing its ugly head or an old relationship keeps coming up.
Maybe you're not progressing in your sport or your career or maybe a social cause that you're a part of is stalled out and not making as much progress as you'd like.
Whatever brought you to this meditation,
Just allow yourself to arrive and remember that you are making an impact.
So let's close our eyes.
Allow your feet to be flat on the floor.
Just melt into this posture.
Allow your face to be soft.
Your shoulders rolled back and down.
Hands and feet are relaxed.
Spine is upright but not too rigid.
Let's pay attention to our breath.
Exhaling all the breath out.
Exhaling deeply through the nose,
Feeling the chest rise and your stomach expand,
Sipping in the air and then letting it go completely,
Releasing it out the nose or the mouth,
Allowing the exhale to be slightly longer than the inhale.
Two more times,
Inhale deeply,
Allowing fresh new oxygen and energy into the body and then letting it all go,
Exhaling out slowly and completely.
One more time,
In through the nose and out through the nose or the mouth.
Breathing naturally and normally for yourself,
See what's going on in the body.
Is there any tightness,
Tension?
Maybe you're feeling tingling in your hands and your feet.
Maybe there's warmth,
Coolness.
Noticing if you're clenching your teeth or grinding.
Create some space.
Allow the jaw to be heavy.
Breathing here,
Softening,
Allowing yourself to take this break.
I encourage you to not give up but when you get weary,
Take a break.
When you feel lost,
Take a break.
Maybe that break is five minutes,
Maybe it's five days,
Maybe it's a whole month.
Not giving up means that you create the space for healing,
For processing.
If your mind has wandered,
Come back to the breath.
Remember for a moment what got you started in this particular activity.
Why did you join that cause?
Why did you start the job?
Why did you sign up for the race or for the class?
Just for a moment,
Come back to that intention.
Remember why you're doing it.
Take a deep breath if anything is tensed up.
Relax your body.
What do you need?
Ask yourself that.
Listen to your heart.
In these contemplative moments,
We are our own best guide,
Coach,
Leader.
Help yourself get through this rough patch.
I encourage you to take a break versus giving up,
Remembering why you're doing it.
Let's take one more deep breath,
Exhaling all the breath out.
Exhale through the nose and exhaling through the nose or the mouth.
Breathing naturally,
Commit to one thing you can do today to help move forward.
Sometimes it's letting go and just taking a break.
Journaling,
Doing something you love,
Filling up your cup so that when you're ready and rested you can get back to whatever endeavor it is that you signed up for.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take a look around your space.
Know that you can do whatever you set your mind to and if you're weary,
Take a rest or a break.
You got this.
Until next time,
Take care.
