From my Spiritline EP. The tradition of the “spirit line” is one I’ve heard in a few different cultures. I remember specifically in Peru a woman in Cuzco weaving a beautiful intricate blanket from alpaca describing one stray thread that she left hanging from the side that one might look at and call a “mistake”. She calls it a spirit line, an intentional imperfection left in the mandala so as to honor our humanness and not offend spirit by trying to be perfect.
